Thanks, this works great. miniinimini's reddit thread also contains instructions to make an add-on for your own install -- it involves nothing more than creating a folder and two text files, pasting a few lines in there, and renaming the file extensions.tomofhyrule wrote: »Just heard there’s a reddit post that tells how to get rid of them:

It seems to be just a script command, so I wouldn’t be surprised if an addon pops up in the next three seconds or so.
This seems very well put together, but rather thorough for what it does. This reads like an annotated developer version rather than an optimised production version. Does that affect load time or game performance?
Isn't it taking up server resources to have these numbers constantly calculated and showing up?

I very much would like to disable the numbers. Distracting and unwanted.

I was thinking this! They're spending all that time with v*ng**nc* testing in Cyrodiil but everything including materials gets a measurement on your compass ...
Two have been mentioned earlier in this thread: a lightweight one to assemble yourself, Keep Your Distance posted by miniinimini on Reddit, and a complete one with settings from ESOUI or Minion, Hide Compass Distances by VollständigerName.Does anyone know if there is already an addon to fix this problem and remove the numbers with the distances from the compass?

Why not?! Ugh. Now I must wait for someone to make an add on for console to hide this. Why ZOS, why????

Just wanted to follow up here. We have shared this with the team for their knowledge and to see if any work can be done to accommodate asks. Nothing to report right now, but we have shared with the team.

By these UI-change examples, and a number of other design choices in recent years, I am repeatedly left with the impression that the current development team find the mindset of players that would enjoy such an add-on fundamentally alien.Until now you've had some magical atlas with a map for every zone, dungeon and even the daedric planes. Not anymore! With this addon, you have to "draw" your own maps. Each map will start as an empty piece of paper, but as you travel and explore tamriel, your character will draw everything he/she sees.
It feels like the current development team do not really consider in their decision-making the subset of players who view "exploration" as a major part of the draw of ESO, and RPGs in general.
If I might plug an add-on that has enhanced my experience with the game significantly: True Exploration by Shinni.By these UI-change examples, and a number of other design choices in recent years, I am repeatedly left with the impression that the current development team find the mindset of players that would enjoy such an add-on fundamentally alien.Until now you've had some magical atlas with a map for every zone, dungeon and even the daedric planes. While they're at it, could they maybe make the numbers make sense? Because they're so hilariously bad, it beggars belief. According to the system nobody asked for, my character is approximately six meters tall.
Please tell me that these measurements have nothing to do with how skill ranges are calculated.
