ZoS should rename either the elemental effect called "poison" to "venom", or rename the fluids smeared onto weapons as a consumable from "poison" to "venom".

Either choice would prevent this needless confusion.

if it comes from the weapon, it must be a weapon poison

like if it comes from an armor it's an armor poison

In that case, Poison Damage from a Poison Glyph should be called Enchantment Poison.

The weapon itself doesn't apply poison; the enchantment does. Likewise, the armor's set bonus causes you to leave a rune, and that rune is what deals Poison Damage.

Yes, the term "alchemical poison" is used in-game by the Moon Hunter set. Maybe Endeavors should be reworded, since they still say "weapon poisons".

A poison glyph is an enchantment, not an actual poison that's physically applied to the weapon. The difference might be hard to understand in terms of the endeavor, because it seems like the poison enchantment should count. But there are other ways to affect other players or enemies with the poisoned status effect, such as certain item sets or skills, and they don't count for the endeavor, either.

A bit late now, but it's also worth remembering that a skill that applies magic damage to your weapons overrides the applied poison that overrides the weapon enchantment.

how annoying

fwiw i have now mastered 4 of the 7 crafting skills with all skill points added and so now that i can make my own glyph, i decide to switch to a disease glyph for my perfected masters sword. sure does good clearing out the mobs! and now i dont feel so conflicted about a poison glyph not registering a weapon poison for endeavors.
