Dev Team Request: A Top 5 List of Bugs and Pain Points You Would Like Addressed
I think I've already put my top five in here somewhere, but I'll add one for consideration: inability to cancel XP buffs.
For some reason, one of my characters has a Crown Experience scroll active. I had given them a subclassed skill line, so it probably seemed like a good idea at the time. At any rate, they got that skill line above 40, so I decided to give them a 150% buff to get it over and done with. Oops! You cannot remove the existing buff to replace it with something else, so I have to let the remainder of 2 hours on the Crown Scroll run out before I can give them a better buff.
Just replacing (like Mundus boons) would be fine, but having to let the clock tick out before being able to use something better doesn't make loads of sense to me.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.
It would be hard to make bring up 5 points that already haven't been brought up multiple times in this thread but there's one that I feel should've been fixed years ago.
Argonian scales and Khajiir fur patterns definitely need to be moved to their own customization slots, because the way it is now and has been for 11 years it is simply not possible for either of those races to use any body paint.
Please consider reworking how player collectable cosmetics are layered. I would like to be able to wear body markings with skins, have my body markings show up on a vampire and be able to wear make-up/facial markings with scars. Also I would like khajiit and argonian only cosmetics in their own tab, it would make finding them alot easier.
The ground cast bug. This, combined with necro's vanishing corpses make a lovely class feel clunky and a chore to play. Skills do not fire, corpses vanish into smoke, ground casts just...don't. Every key press feels a roulette.
Issue 1 - Waiting too long for certain houses to be available.
Issue 2 - A way to reset achievements - if you want to run them again or do them on another character.
Pain Point 1 - I struggle immensely with Veteran Solo Arenas - well vet anything really due to a physical disability. It would be nice if we had a store for Veteran Arena gear. I could do the grind e.g 30 runs on normal gives give you a key!
Pain Point 2 - Not really a game design issue but its killing the fun. Group finder is all elitist with all veteran content being locked behind "link achievement". Perhaps it would help with you considered a vendor chest idea like undaunted for Trial gear? That way it might be a little more accessible.
Pain Point 3 - Please can you tag Conservatory furnishings to zone they from. Its a nightmare to figure it out!
Pain Point 4: Can we have some wildlife like deer, birds etc for our homes + some Riekling, Ogres, etc would be great. Where's a mob when you need one!

Bugs (Not many of these, but then I don't really analyse my combat results...)
Role randomly being changed on my character. (Why is my DD suddenly classified as a tank?) New as of U46.
Collectibles being listed in menus that are not in the game. Please do not add achievements for motif styles if the pages are not yet dropping in the game. Please make sure that all books in the Eidetic Memory exist and can be found as interactable objects in the game after you have completed any associated quests and/or actions. (E.g. don't have a quest giver drop it into our inventory and have it magically disappear upon completion without a post-quest copy being available, and keep books that disappear for account-wide achievements available to be interacted with by alts.)
Items cannot be interacted with. Such as lorebooks stuck inside terrain, which you cannot read or containers next to my face saying 'out of reach'.
Top Pain Points
Not enough to do in new content releases. Please bring back the variety in repeatable quests that zones like Clockwork City and Southern Elsweyr offered.
Too many locked doors in cities. It makes them feel empty and uninteresting. You have lovely interiors. Please use them.
Poor search function in the outfit and furniture crafting menus. I'd very much like a way to say filter by item type or with text ("show me all chairs/tables, everything starting with 'Leyawiin', etc.") and the icons for clothes and weapons have all started to blend together.
Gated releases of collectibles in new content. Primarily motifs and furnishing plans. This makes me uninterested in trying, for example, new dungeons, as I feel the full reward is not available and I'd be better off coming back next year.
My warden DD is really struggling after the nerf to Arctic Wind combined heal/damage ability. The class needs help in the dps department for those not wanting to rely on a full frost build.
Yes, there is a pattern. Collecting is a big draw for me.
Oh, and as an addendum, a nice-to-have would be the ability to select a load screen style per character. I miss some of the old ones...
1. Veteran solo arenas are very anti-accessibility, if you have any sort of physical disability, this is a frustrating nightmare. Things like maelstrom bow shouldn't be gated in such a do-this-or-you-instadie dungeon, that's a bad design crutch and it keeps coming back. My suggestion would be to try scaling up damage to punish mistakes, not instant deaths.
2. Necromancer pets feel awful/this janky 10-20 second buff spam setup is not fun.
4. Tonedeaf player safety team/ban and ask questions never attitude/bad faith reporting is now rampant.
5. Sorc pets are permanent, good job, please provide a way to hide them, the flapping wings are HUGE and annoying -- or better yet, add styles so we can have more thematic pets. That goes for Warden too... give them a wolf option (You can probably ignore necromancer, those aren't real pets, they're 20 second buffs that you have to spam...)!
In-game support system is completely counterintuitive and even making ZERO sense in some parts.
In particular:
* The "Feedback/bug" section just creates and instantly closes the ticket with no way for the player to respond, view or track it. I get that it is supposed to be JUST the ONE-WAY feedback system, but that is not articulated at all, and when people encounter a bug they need actual HELP with, and choose this, the response they get reads like "get lost!"
* The "Item Assistance" section has "I lost my item" category, which REQUIRES the player to instead right-click on the item in question -- that they DO NOT HAVE (!) -- to submit that ticket. (Same for "I have a problem with a Crown Store item" -- it tells to right-click on it, but if the problem is that you don't have it, you can't, and there's no right-click -> ask for help menu in Collections or in the Crown Store itself, not to mention you generally don't even have missing items listed in the Collections)
* Most of the meaningful categories are just missing. E.g., in Quest Assistance, there are only "NPC/mobs" and "Item missing". There's no option for quest stages not advancing, dialog issues, etc. Similarly, in the general "Ask for help" -> "Character Issue", there are only "Character Restoration", "Group Activities" (what does that have to do with a specific character???), "Chat/Vendors not working" (same), and "Skills/Abilities/Achievements" (the latter being not exactly a *character* issue anymore). There's no "Account issues" section, nor anything resembling other most commonly encountered problems.
1) Achievement and content based npc guilds so players can more easily find players in their own lane for content. No more "linking achievement" required. If your not in the chat, you dont have it. Playing in your own lane is better for all players.
2) redesign existing dungeons to a better non linear non trial type adventure format.
3) replace cp with simplified damage type/armor/healing etc specializations.
4) add in an optional alternate one bar setup that is 80% of the two bar setup.
5) add in temporary overland invasion zones to up the challenge factor to overland content.
Bugs
1) Bound Aegis passive effect is remove with no reason and that can happens randomly
2) Bound Aegis passive effect is remove with change build with armory assistant
3) Bound Aegis passive effect is remove when i go in dungon group for make dungeon
2) transmut crystal => this is annoying to must to do dungeon or pvp for get crystal. it would be interessted to have passive of artifact like for scribing that give a chance when you kill a enemy, mine a ore, to get a random amount of crystal
3) no native minimap
4) no native value of object in guild vendor like we can have with tamriel trade center
5) let people create tournament in pve environnement and make more than 2 player in duel battle.
Pain Point 1 - Query for any word in a set in the Collections->Set Items tab. I want to stop using external websites to find sets for a build. E.G. If I type in "status effect", I want the game to return all results with the words "status" and "effect" in it.
Pain Point 2 - Have an icon next to players in the Group tab whilst in a trial or dungeon to indicate that that character/account has not yet completed it on normal or vet. I understand at first glance this seems like a method to kick newcomers. As a tank, I instead find most people don't speak up about their experience in dungeons/trials. They're already afraid of being kicked so will keep quiet about not knowing any mechanics and try to slip by. This always makes it worse, of course. Some solution needs to be made to encourage people to participate in understanding the content they are doing.
Pain Point 3 - PvP seems horribly unbalanced for BGs. Out of 10 games, I may have 1 that is evenly matched. Other than that, it's a steamroll on either side. This could be because people are queueing, hoping to get carried, for the daily bonus. It could be because no one knows how to build PvP, etc. Currently, many of my matches are not fun because of immediate loss or lack of fulfilling challenge.
Pain Point 4 - More flexibility with Undaunted quests. I think it's fine to encourage everyone to run specific dungeons. I get the benefits. However, for those just wanting more Undaunted Keys and wanting to enjoy other dungeons, an option to complete any dungeon x3--but for less keys--would be welcoming. Maybe adding a Trial rotation for Undaunted keys would be good too--this can be weekly.
Pain Point 5 - Tracking dues owed to guild. This visibility may be largely pointless, but I think it's a simple implementation. E.G. Guild sets 20k in dues. After each sale through that guild trader, I can visit a tab that shows how much I've contributed towards that due. This could be set by day, week, month by the guild and calculated accordingly.
Just came back to ESO. Love the amount of improvements and changes but these have stuck around and need addressing in some form.
1. Unable to complete recipe collection as Chef Arquitius's Lost Thesis is impossibly rare. Really frustrating, not even available on guild traders anywhere. Please let us buy it somehow.
2. See above.
Only 1 - Stuck in combat. Regularly in dungeons you miss that single add, left 3 rooms away, and you're still considered in combat. Everyone waits in front of an unusable door for ages. Sometimes that single add is just not there.
Top Pain Points
1 - Let me use a damn gamepad with the NORMAL UI. I don't understand why I have to have a painful experience just because I want to use a gamepad...it's 2025, there are so many hybrid controllers (I use an Azeron Cyborg) that let you play with an analog stick for immersive movements and mouse for precise aiming. Still, I'm forced to have a pathetic interface, with books that become children versions and have extra huge fonts...nameplates are bigger and ALWAYS with the account, not the character name, the immersion is completely shattered and thrown into the toilet.
Please don't consider all gamepad users as disabled, lots of them can read fine and play on a monitor.
2 - General queueing? By now every class can solo normal dungeons, even veteran why not...still waiting for 2DPS 1 tank and 1 healer feels ridiculous and adds nothing to the normal dungeon experience. There will always be that single player who runs away and probably queued as a tank/healer, helping nobody and just teleporting the group to the next boss while ignoring all the adds. Just let us queue as is, and create a separate queue for whoever wants to do dungeons in a regular formation.
3 - Arcanist? Seriously do something about that class, just check the leaderboards...DK leaderboards barely go above 15-20 people, the arcanist stops at 100 just because it can't display all of them. There's a clear imbalance that just nullifies the whole experience for all the others, every random dungeon has one or more arcanists, every dungeon ends with beams all over the place, feels like a Fortnite match, nor a group experience anymore.
4 (or 3b) - The difference between DoTs and direct damage is just embarrassing...DoTs are completely useless, every good build by now is either beam based, jab based or heavy attack (with ALWAYS the lightning staff). There are classes that are literally barred out of any content, it's impossible to do anything as StamDK, why should I go through the effort of throwing 6-7 DoTs on a complex double bar rotation for barely 83k dps when a sorcerer just holds a button and goes 110k+? Wake up people, there's half the gameplay that is just not worth it here...
5 (or 3c) - Subclassing made pure class completely obsolete. There is not a single scenario where staying with your class' skills is worth it...it's not a different playstyle, it's just a better version. Needless to say it's immersion breaking and leaves those who want to play a fully thematic build behind, lightyears behind. Especially when considering that an already weak dps as StamDK has now been nerfed considerably because the only good 2-3 skills it had were "too good for the others".
Yeah, fantastic, thanks. Can't you just boost (A LOT) the skills of whoever decides to stay with a pure class?
Just work on something come on, in the last years, between scribing and now subclassing, the average dps even for casuals has tripled, and funnily enough, we see the same builds everywhere...it was supposed to add diversity but has only brought even more beams.
"Class identity isn’t just about power or efficiency. It’s about symbolic clarity, mechanical cohesion, and a shared visual and tactical language between players." - sans-culottes
the one thing i'd like to subclass into is Sorc for Deadric summoning. however, the fact that a summons must take up a slot on both bars is a heavy limitation on trying to use deadric summoning. you either have to go all in or nothing at all for that skill line. I cant spare 2-4 skill slots out of 8 for this.
So if it could be made to still function even on the backbar, that would be wonderful.
Tales of Tribute Leaderboard Not Updating Properly
Wins and ranking inconsistencies continue to affect competitive ToT players, especially after daily reset.
Companions Getting Stuck in Combat or Idle States
Companions frequently freeze in place, especially after interactions with elevators, door transitions, or in water.
Mount Speed Bug (Double-Tap Lag)
Occasionally mounts bug out when sprinting after dismounting from combat, requiring a reload or relog.
Endless Load Screens in PvP and Group Finder Dungeons
Particularly in Cyrodiil or during group finder queues, load screens sometimes never resolve and force a game restart.
Guild Store Search Function Bugs
Search filters reset unpredictably or fail to apply consistently, especially when browsing furniture categories or motifs.
Top Pain Points
No Account-Wide Housing Decorator Role
Players can’t share house editing access across all characters—forces constant swapping or awkward workarounds.
Guild Finder Tool Missing Search by Name Function
Searching for a specific guild is impossible unless they randomly show up in the limited list.
Lack of a Minimap Option in Base Game
Especially for new players, map awareness and direction suffer without a built-in minimap like many MMOs now include.
Limited Inventory Sorting Options
No ability to manually reorder items or flag favorites. Also, the “new” indicator is inconsistent and often misleading.
Too Many Clicks to Access Furnishings from Inventory
Using or placing furnishings takes too many steps. A right-click → “place” option directly from inventory would be a huge quality-of-life boost.
There's quite a few bugs posted by other that I agree with, so I'm not going to repost them.
I don't have many pain points except for one.
Top Pain Points
Pain Point 1 - Please address the population problem in Cyrodiil.
It's so unbalanced that you don't really PvP, you either just run around in a zerg or get mowed down by a zerg.
My suggestion is to only allow the same numbers into Cyrodiil as the least populated faction.
Yes, there will be a que to wait in as the three get evenly populated, but it will make better PvP with more even amounts of players.
People that want to PvP bad enough will join the least populated faction for a campaign just to get in, instead of everyone joining the most populated faction just for easy AP.
I would like to request an annual crown vendor that lets you purchase preorder rewards, impresario rewards, and other last rewards which are no longer available collectibles. It's true these are supposed to be special event items, but players are dedicated completists who like to collect, or perhaps you are simply like me and missed something you really wanted. This way those players who play all the time have the opportunity to get things they missed - once a year, as a reward for being a dedicated player.
Top Bugs/Issues
1. There are still bosses that don't have "Joining Encounter in Progress".
Top Pain Points
1. Surveys are extremely time consuming.
2. Treasure maps aren't stackable.
3. Can't hide guild tabard.
4. Survey nodes don't drop furnishing mats like normal nodes.
5. Lead drop chance is terrible
I just have a really really small but impactful quality of life request please...
Could we please get a toggle of our online status on the character select screen? I hate having to online just to put myself into offline for privacy.
Please let me choose to enter the game with the choice of appearing offline or online or DND, or Away, a toggle or a little box you can check if you want, default could be online, and you can still change it in game like normal, it would just give players more privacy in a way that is optional.
Grand Master Crafter, Beta baby who grew with the game. PC/NA. @Sheezabeast if you have crafting needs!
1. The voice chat cuts out.
2. Stuck in combat.
3. Block drop. This is most noticeable while tanking.
4. Skills not firing correctly / not al all.
5. Numerous dungeon achievements are bugged and will not give credit when done correctly.
Top 5 pain points:
1. Lack of companion / assistant who will complete surveys and treasure maps for you.
2. Lack of the ability to skip the quest for a companion you've already completed on another character. This would be similar to a new character and the ability to skip the Wailing Prison.
3. Lack of stackable treasure maps, and not able to put them in a guild bank.
4. Farming bots.
5. Lack of attention to Cyrodiil. There are many issues that need resolved. A way to help with combat balance in PvP and not affect PvE would be to adjust Battle Spirit. This could affect ball groups / the number if people you are in a group with, healing, dps, etc.
1 having to login in manually via zos whereas other platforms are automatic
2 restricted range of festival prizes and capped tokens...prefer neither, or one or the other to be limited
3 not being able to lock any item
4 items that don't stack e.g. maps, geodes
5 no shared storage with friends
6 having to relearn guild skills just for companion...prefer companion general xp to apply to guild xp too
7 not being to improve a glyph
8 no indication whether a lore book is already known or not
9 can't change jewellery trait without dlc
10 too many add-ons required to play a premium game
1. There are still a LOT of quests that are broken if you're grouped with someone. They're in every realm, from mainline quests to side quests. It's very, very frustrating to be on the last step of a multi-step mainline quest, and have to abandon it and start over solo. The game is ten years old - you should have fixed these a loooong time ago.
Have consistency when grouped with someone for quests. Sometimes completing a step, or collecting an item counts for both, other times it's individual. This happens both ways when doing the same quests. Running the Scribing quests made this glaringly obvious recently.
This also happens with endeavours.
Kill 5 beasts... one kill counts towards both.
Kill with skills... has to be individual.
Inconsistent.
