Anyone else sad we didn't end up going to Hammerfell, or Winterhold this year?

Part of me is, but since the latest zone feels kind of scanty to me part of me isn’t - I’d rather places like Winterhold with a long history in the lore get more TLC and detail than I feel like Solstice got. Because right now if Solstice never showed up in another game I’d only really be bothered at the opportunity wasted as far as making the new lore engaging. It’s still sad, in that I don’t believe I would miss it the way I would miss Fargrave, but it isn’t going to quietly remind me with how disappointing it was every time I see it in another game because it doesn’t exist outside ESO.

    no.
it will happen when it happens.

as some or all of next year's dlc is likely related to the Dark Brotherhood it could mean we get a new Skyrim zone with the Dawnstar DB sanctuary, which could possibly include Winterhold as it neighbours The Pale hold.
2026 is also TES V Skyrim's 15 year anniversary and Blackwood released in 2021 with Oblivion's 15 year anniversary.

Any new (PvE) zone is awesome to me so I'm happy regardless of which region it's in.

How about Whiterun and the Pale ?
During the afternoon of Loredas, 6 Sun’s Dawn 2e578 a big piece of Aetherius fell to Nirn. It was the first major piece of Aetherius to fall on Nirn in more than five hundred years. It scattered around the world as millions of shards. It was rapidly documented by Lady Cinnabar of Taneth in her pamphlet Aetherial Fragments that "... when three shards meet, they re-form into a silvery prism by unknown process and confer the power unlocked by the merger to a nearby being." The Order of the Black Worm, commonly known as the Worm Cult, reappeared in Tamriel shortly thereafter and some of its members are avidly searching said shards.
In the last week of First Seed 2e579, an arcane explosion occurred in the Imperial City — a night of storms, and trembling terrain. They named it the "Soulburst". That day Emperor Varen Aquilarios disappeared without a trace. His wife, Clivia Tharn, ascended to the Ruby Throne as Empress Regent under the guidance of the Necromancer Mannimarco. Ushering a time of increased instability within the Empire of Cyrodiil which finally grew into “The Three Banners War”.

Tamriel is packed with major regions we've never set foot in, but instead of exploring any of that rich, established lore, the devs keep pulling random, lore-convenient islands out of thin air—because apparently, inventing new landmasses is easier than actually developing the world they already have.

    Enough.

While Winterhold would be nice, and I would so look forward to it, the lore and history in Western Solstice have been so well-crafted that I certainly wouldn't take it back. A few quests in particular offer a lot of payoff for the history of the Corelanyas, their various cultural phases and conflicts, and evolving relationship with the argonians. I'm looking forward to finding answers on the eastern side as to the history of the argonians and daedric worship on the island.

TES VI im 99% confident wont come out before 2027 because a) its not ready and will get delayed anyhow cause it always does and b) msoft certainly doesnt want to release it in the same year as GTA

The lore ( slightly ) explored in High Isle regarding bretons and colovians early history was interesting though. It's a shame we didn't get much concerning chivalric orders, their role in breton society, and even breton noble houses ( on that last thing, I think Rivenspire beat High Isle by a large margin, and even in Rivenspire it was more like a general picture with some little aspects being fleshed out rather than a deep, or even moderate dive on the subject ).

Solstice on the other hand, I can't say much, but it really don't seem to be much sadly.

I’m not really worried too much about where we go, but more about the story telling and stuff in the zone. Unfortunately, it seems like the story telling hasn’t increased in quality.

It’s been fairly unimaginative in my opinion, sorry to be rude, and it really bothers me that they make us seem so stupid and demented.

To add, I don’t think we’ll see hammerfell (could be totally wrong) prior to ES6 releasing since that’s basically been confirmed as the location, but who knows! Also, next year is the 15 year anniversary of Skyrim, so I wouldn’t be shocked if we saw Skyrim next year. Not necessarily winterhold, but Skyrim specifically.

I need winterhold AND whiterun in my life!

Solstice is beautiful, the artists did a fantastic job; but I definitely agree its always just a bit more exciting when we get to go back to our favourite places.

I cannot see ZOS doing a new vision of Hammerfell when something in the next two years or so is likely to come along and contradict much of what they do. It makes a lot of sense for them to wait it out a bit longer.

I AM very excited to see some more of Skyrim!

    Winterhold would be amazing.

I'd also absolutely love to see 2nd-era Helgen, as well as Pale Pass. So I guess Falkreath Hold would be up there for me, too.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I don't understand this. Oblivion Remastered is literally the same exact game but with an Unreal Engine coat of paint.

That's probably about that coat of paint specifically, visual style have changed with it impacting overall atmosphere. Still makes me think of ESO or Blades more than OG Oblivion. For some it's not as faithful recreation as we hoped it could be (Diablo 2 remaster as a counter example being absolutely spot on).

I‘m not explicitly sad about not going to Hammerfell or further into Skyrim.
But I‘d like to go to regions that are actually existing in TES rather than visiting an island nobody ever heard of.
It doesn‘t have to be on continental Tamriel but there are so many regions that actually have lore.
Why are we visiting something like Solstice as it wasn‘t even mentioned in any way before?

At the rate ZOS is releasing things, we might get Hammerfell in 2026.
Or at least 10% of Hammerfell every month as a season.
There will be a new mythic that turns all your skills into a single spammable that does 150k dps in a 50m AOE while healing your for 100% of the damage done.
Each season will cost $90USD or $300AUD since the US dollar is 50% stronger than the Aussie.
