Other: the issue i had here was i purchased at release thinking i was getting a pre-purchase because of all the goodies usually available befoore release and not researching the fact there is no refund after 2 hours, it was a few days befoore i realized i did not want it and was refused a refund. after owning for 2 hours the decision includes every single hour of eso ever played as a refusal decision on steam

I decided last year that I'd put off buying the next chapter because I'm way behind on completing them, but I have to admit when they announced the format was changing I hoped they'd persuade me to change my mind. But the 'season pass' is a chapter under another name, which also requires me to buy dungeons I don't want or need, so I'm even less interested than I was before.

Unless something happens which puts me off playing ESO at all (and I have no idea what that would be) I will get it eventually, but it will be when I'm ready to buy it and it's more reasonably priced.

Yes because I like to play the content when it's released regardless. I support the developers of the game and do not want them punished for executives' decisions.

I have many gripes with the game, how it's run by Rich Lambert, with the severe lack of communication and overall disappointing cadence at which they release viable & desired updates, but the game has gotten me through some of the hardest times of my life, and I still wish to support that, even between breaks.

Leaning towards buying it on sale. I usually get the chapters on release for the trial but I prob won't have time to play it right now anyway with my current progs so why pay more.

I haven't finished lots of the current game so it'll take me years to catch up with the current game. Especially after moving to Xbox, I can do some of the old stuff again. I don't think I need anything new, although I'm starting to look forward to the idea of sub-classing.

It's a wait for sale for me. The zone looks pretty light on features, and with subclassing being a base game feature, I have no reason to get this at full price. The story, if the prologue is any indication, isn't terribly compelling for me. I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

I did, but I was definitely holding my nose this time way more than others.

The Season Pass this year seems to have way less value than Chapters of the past - I normally get Chapters to play with the new Chapter feature, do the new Trial with my group, and enjoy an expansive zone. This time though... well, the 'feature' is basegame so it's not required to get the Chapter for it, and the Zone is tiny and honestly not that interesting to me. And on top of that, we're forced to buy the dungeons with it, when I already get access to them via ESO+ (and one of them I've already done all achievements including the trifecta with two different groups and have completed stickerbook, so there's not much reason to go back to it anymore)

If this is how the Content Passes are going to continue, that may be the last one I bought. At least on presale.

Now, if ZOS comes around and gives me an Artificer Class as a feature for the 2026 one, we'll talk. Otherwise...

I'm not purchasing because of how pure classes are being nerfed to work with subclassing.

I know subclassing is base game and I will be stuck with it whether I purchase or not, but I can't support these changes.

i love everything i have seen of Solstice (zone, story, housing, sets), i like the Fallen Banners dungeons, and i am excited for the trial and other dungeons as well.

Will probably purchase future Content Passes or its successor too, because i like new things for ESO (the game i play nearly every day).

    Other.

I've pre-ordered every previous chapter's deluxe version all the way back since Vvardenfell, but West Weild was so mediocre and the upcoming multiclassing such a train wreck that I'm stopping that practice.
Not sure what my new buying practice will be, or if I'll even buy at all.

Each chapter has been worse value for money than the last.
With each patch cycle, ZoS goes further down the rabbit hole of staggered loot unlocks, devaluing early access to what little we do get.
And now ZoS are adding a system that will bring absolute chaos for at least 1 patch cycle, probably several.

If ZoS at least partially fix the train wreck in time for the "writhing wall" event, and/or the event looks interesting, and/or theres a good sale I *MIGHT* buy the chapter then.

If not, I'll restart My ESO+ subscription after at least a year has passed and the train wreck is resolved.
Which might be never, given the size of the wreck.
No point going back to being a paying customer if ZoS turn ESO into another dead game.

TL:DR: I'm waiting to see if ZoS earn my money.

Not really planning to invest in eso this year while zos tries to figure out subclassing and the new content model.

Definitely not interested in the content pass and essentially pre-paying for the unknown after u46.

Also the idea of playing through half of a zone and having to wait a while for the other half is not appealing to me, and if I *do* decide to eventually play though it, I'll wait until both halves are available.

Will maybe check back in 3-6 months to see if anything from this year seems worth grabbing on sale (assuming the content pass goes on sale), but I'm in no rush and will take the time to catch up on some other games.

I enjoy the game so will continue to support the game until that changes. I buy the content for the current year, have ESO+ and have bought 2 crown packs when on sale over 7+ years to fill in things I may want to buy in particular 2 houses.

I don't get to fussed over the changes as with any other game I have played you just adapt and keep moving forward. Looking forward to playing around with subclassing on a few characters. And will still be able to do non Hard Mode vet clears of all the content with whatever tank healer or non meta dps I have going.

Will still enjoy PVP in the small chunks I play and get up from frequent dirt naps but thats all part of the fun.

With every major change it's always the sky is falling on the forums but most of the folks I play with just keep on having fun either way.

Typically I buy the Collector's/Deluxe Chapter at 75% discount in November, but I might wait until the zone is available as separate DLC next year and buy it without the dungeon DLC using the Crowns from ESO+. (I want to keep access to the zones should I ever decide to stop with ESO+.)

Reasons similar to others posted: I'm years behind in content already, I'm not interested in buying the dungeons, and I don't like Coldharbour. More broadly I don't care about subclassing or harder Overland, and I'd prefer it if their attention was on (quest) bug fixes and quality of life improvements in addition to new places to explore.

    I'm unsure.

I got West Weald last year because I had a bunch of fun with it on the PTS but, I didn't end up having as much fun with it on Live as I had expected.

This year PTS experience was solid enough for the PTS from a quality perspective but, it was on the light side from a quantity perspective and the cost is up compared to previous years so it's kind of iffy to justify at this point for my budget.

As it is the first year of the Season Pass it is not terribly predictable what the content that is coming up will include so it is hard to say if it will be worth the $.

I purchased the pre-order because I really wanted the mage recall. Like you, its insanely important for me to be able to create a look for my characters and things like that really help to flesh them out in ways I have never really had before.

I am not a fan of subclassing and I think it will do more harm than good to the game. I want to do the wall event later on in the year, that sounds cool to me (reminds me of opening the gates of Ahn'Qiraj in vanilla wow 20 years ago, so the pre-order works for me in that regard.

However, I think I will be curbing my spending outside of ESO+ and even then I might cancel and sub every other month. I am not convinced in the slightest that subclassing will be beneficial. I mean sure it will be interesting to mess around with it, but what it does to class identity along with insane power creeps is going to damage the game in many ways.

Limitations are necessary, they are the means in which life maintains structure. Subclassing goes past the line.

They've made it really easy for me to wait and see. I feel absolutely no motivation to buy this. I feel the opposite.

All available evidence suggests to me that ZOS is attempting to give us much less, yet is charging us about the same. I don't want this to be successful because it will become the new normal. It would be a shame if that were to happen.

I would bet they've spent less developing new content for ESO this past year than any other in its existence by a large margin.
