I have played with some of these people, and what they say is that the improvements in playing on PC are the addons. Never have I heard them mention it was easier to hit the boss or any target.

Is it possible that a lot of the console players playing on PC use controllers and thus issue is a controller/controller UI issue? All of my (Xbox) friends who've gone to PC still use controllers for combat.

If you are suggesting what I think then I agree.

It is possible, and more likely, that the controller works somewhat differently on PC than it does on console. For the consoles, the controller was a first thought with porting the game to the consoles as it is clearly required. For PC I understand it was added to the game after the game launched and still well after the console launch. I cannot verify this myself.

From what I understand, the controller UI on PC is the same as what we have on console, so it makes sense that they work the same way and in fact more than one player on PC that uses a controller has mentioned here that they are having the same targeting issues.

Compared to a lot of other games, targeting on console for eso is far more finicky, often times the hit boxes for different adds are in different locations depending on size, and you have to get used to it. I do think it's a weak point.

On top of this, when Blackwood came out, one change zos made that i loathe to this day is extending the time you have to hold down right stick to tab target. This has made prioritising targets in a dynamic combat more difficult, as holding down the same stick you use for moving the camera on a moving target is tricky, and I've strained my thumb over the years since.
I'd stop tab targeting but the amount of times you aim your reticle at a target and the attack just passes through is crazy.

Even if Arcanist wasn't OP damage, it's OP for targeting ease.

I'd absolutely believe PC targeting is better, as there are few games that don't lose some efficacy when ported to console.

The PC also looks better, overall. It's easier to get drawn into Tamriel. They would have had different designers. I'd like the people who designed the PC version to have a look at redesigning the Xbox interface.

But there are probably higher priorities.

I've posted on the bug forums about this issue in the past. It was just ignored.

On Playstation, the targetiing system is buggy. I can't speak for XBox or Console UI on PC.

For the most part it works like it's supposed to, but every now and then I'll have a day where one of my characters will find it exteremely difficult to find a target. All targeted skills will consistently fail, because the hitbox to get them to even light up on the bar is incredibly small. It's so bad that I have to simply not use that character in any group content because my character's performance will be too unreliable.

And the kicker is, it'll only be on one of my characters (random which one gets afflicted), and after reset the next day it'll be back to normal. It's really bad and easy to spot if you know what to look for when it happens though.

The worst part is when your skills and ultimates hit the [snip] rat that's next to or 10 meters behind the enemy you're ACTUALLY targeting! It's so damn irritating! Just remove all the damn 1 HP stuff in delves so we'll be rid of this stupidity.

And just like you said, Arcanists are easier to play for targeting ease. That's why I'm pretty much playing on it most of the time. I loathe being irritated over stupid things.
