Losing 8% more damage and only having it instead buff 20% of my damage by an extra 2% will probably force me to have to switch off using Warden for subclassing entirely. I really like Warden and its design, but I'm also not gonna gimp myself for rp or personal affection.
I don't want to sound rude or anything but i feel like I'm thinking about subclassing differently than other people. Based on what you've said i don't really see why in your case, dropping the line is an issue if you do want to do more damage, but on the other side, if you really do like the theme of the line and want to use it, why is the line becoming more specialised within itself bad? We can all agree it's undertuned but I swear I'm going crazy here. People now can be anything they like!
I really like the class and want to get to play cool components of it (forgive the pun) but also don't want to see it just needlessly get nerfed back to a previous abandoned poor state. I would've happily done animal companions, assassinations, winter's and enjoyed it, but can't now.
They buffed the passives for Animal Companion's skill tree to provide more % damage didn't they? So you're not exactly losing the 8% from the passive, also you had you be incredibly squishy to utilize the 8% from the passive, as stepping over 30k hp would remove it. I guess that doesn't matter as much in PvE, but in PvP it killed the class for me, which is why I'm happy with these changes.

They gave the crit passive 1% more crit per animal skill, which isn't really useful. If it was flat % more damage it would be hype though.

What about the 20 second damage % buff you get from the ultimate changes? Arguably, it's a buff to base warden. Having 8% unconditional damage buff from a single passive for all damage sources was pretty op. This change leaves that damage still in Warden's kit, but makes you have to use the skill line ultimate to get it.

I have no idea how to claw out another 15k lol.
i'm definitely doing something rotationally wrong here.
Hopefully there is an update tomorrow, the skill line seems to be lacking, as many have pointed out and that’s coming from end game players and non end game players

Nothing is touching Cro/Arc/NB, they're still 20-30k+ up, and a big part is because all three have such incredibly strong passives to stack up along with a lot of passives on the skills themselves. I also feel like nerfing Daedric Curse and the mag Blast Bones to only affect Sorc pets and Necro skills respectively is a giant FU to players. Arcs and their nonsense still benefit from the 15% DoT damage from mag BB. It's just stupid and poorly thought out from the top down.

Yes unfortunately when you combine, high wp/sp damage, high crit with a big damage skill you tend to leave everything else in the dust.

Top parse from Alduin is Arc/NB/Sorc. Every class has a line combined with Herald of the Tome and Assassin that pushes it 170+. Necro i've only seen with arc beam, the others without arc beam.

Its kinda surprising that storm calling is being taken but it's only for overload cheese and hurricane as far as i saw which is a shame. That line needs big buffs to it's mediocre skills.

It's more the reverse execute passive than anything. Overload and hurricane are just for a bit more damage.

Yes “a large chunk” does sound promising. Hopefully we see a lot of good changes.
