I think it's great that we can turn rain on and off on demand. Undoubtly a great benefit for housing.
But...

...If it's not to late to request changes to the item, I think a setting for snow, apocryphal rain, sandy winds and other weather settings you've introduced in different zones would make for a great addition to the tool! If snow functions as a placeholder for rain in snow covered player homes, remove it from my list. I don't own any home that'd be cold enough to test this.

Pretty sure the lack of a snowing option is because snow wouldn't accumulate on the ground due to the engine limitations. That's why you only see ESO snowfall in zones/regions that have permanent ground snow because the ground was drawn/painted that way.

I didn't mean for it to add snow piling up on the ground. But we got snow as furnishings already. Lots of it. And a snow setting would be quite befitting for those who use those furnishings or bought a house with snow such as 'The Enchanted Snowglobe', 'Pariah's Pinnacle' and 'Stillwaters Retreat'. Wouldn't you agree?

Edit: Plus, the rain setting doesn't add puddles of water either so I think it wouldn't be too weird to add a snow-option.

The weather is from the zone the house is in. I didn’t test it extensively on the PTS but places with no rain just got cloudy. So, if you put it in, say, the Antiquarian gallery it SHOULD snow (assuming it snows in W Skyrim).

I can confirm that the Stormy setting does show snow in the Antiquarian's Alpine Gallery.

Albeit the storm setting is rather underwhelming. I wish for wilder storms, much blacker clouds, more rain, snow or sand (in the appropriate regions).

    I was underwhelmed too!

Only good thing might be that by using the "clear" setting we can eliminate unwanted indoor weather in self builds, need to test this fully though.

First thing I did was go to the Alpine gallery and it definitely snowed and then I went to sleek Creek and turned on the rain and left it that way. Perfect.

I think the available weather effects are determined by the zone.

I assume ZOS could change that, but I suspect it would be a lot more work than just adding additional settings to the controller, especially if they're currently all using the same 3 options (so 'storm' in snowy places makes it snow, and they'd need to create a new catergory to allow both in the same zone).

I did notice that Coldharbour Surreal Estate has the option of weather control, but doesn't seem to change anything. Most of the other Daedric realms has it disabled.

Also for some reason Hundings Palatial Hall has the option turned off, so it is always clear. In my case I wanted it clear anyway as mine is a beach house, but was confused why it seems to be the only house with an outdoor space that doesn't allow weather, unless the island of Stros M'Kai is meant to be always sunny in the base game.

One thing I am very happy about it the fact I can finally turn off the dreaded sandstorm in my Thieves Oasis, which would completely change the house if visiting while a sandstorm was blowing through my custom build by the lake.

Yes I'm guessing this device was introduced as a bit of weather control but, more directly, to deal with issues that attracted complaints in places like Thieves Oasis (my favourite house but my it got tiresome when you were sitting in your garden with a full-on sandstorm blowing through).

I would've loved a warm moist Sword-Singer's Redoubt since it's my favorite home, but alas the storm effect doesn't work there at all despite having weather support in it's label. 😔 also my weapon sound effects don't work while it's on in gallery for some reason. Had to turn it off and rezone to fix it.

I wish there was foggy weather, and rain without thunder. The stormy should definitely have heavier rain.

It's also odd that some desert houses like Hunding's Palatial Hall and Sword-Singer's Redoubt have weather control active, but the options do nothing. You can't get it fully clear like you expect from a desert, or clouder, or rainy, or sandstorming, it's all clear with some clouds.

Ya, snow would be welcoming. That being said, its just freeing rain...so I dunna, it kinda makes sense that there is no snow in zones where there is no snow.
