Can we have another companion as cool as Sharp-As-Night?

*lowers sunglasses and looks up at the blue sky over Southpoint beach* y'know, ever since The Kettle Incident, I just haven't been the same. *casually sips sausage water out of a coconut* I've had standoffs against Daedric princes, fought armies in Cyrodiil, and witnessed the eldritch horror of the self-cooking camel...but that kettle I got my foot stuck in...that truly was my greatest enemy.

If other Telvanni Masters who visit my humble abode see my Bosmer, they're often enamoured of these little creatures. I always have to remind them that keeping being friend of Bosmer can be quite demanding, especially emotionally. They're so short, they often get into trouble. I can't count the times I had to free one who has fallen into a pot, or became stuck beneath the bed, or climbed a bookshelf and was unable to get back down. They're truly only suitable for real enthusiasts.

Not to mention The Right of Theft! By the way- can you restock your sausage supply? You're running out of jars to steal borrow absolutely not take under any circumstances.

Also, I want a bosmer companion who has chronic issues with getting stuck in things now xD
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause

Yes, yes. Could you maybe "borrow" more eggs? I heard they make the fur shiny, and I want to impress Gothren the next time he visits. Oh, and don't get your hair matted again - I don't want to have to brush you for five hours again to make you look acceptable.

Sometimes people ask me why I'm putting up with all this. But it's not just the "getting stuck beneath the bed" and "climbing high bookshelves" things - otherwise I could just buy a miniature dachshund, a squirrel, or maybe a poodle (which I might do the next time I visit the Summerset Isles). Bosmer do have their special charms.
Also, I want a bosmer companion who has chronic issues with getting stuck in things now xD

Is that his special perk? What would the player character get from that? Ah, let me guess: Being allowed to travel with a Bosmer companion is rewarding enough? :p

I don't need a companion to get constantly stuck in things - I can manage that perfectly well by myself thankyouverymuch.

Sharp is the best because he gives zero f***s about what you are doing, murdering someone, no problem, breaking into a house, stealing from boxes and pockets, not a problem. It is refreshing.

He doesn't like when you pickpocket poor people. I got dinged a couple times doing the guy standing by the Riften docks who is concerned about water zombies.

    I can't stand companions.

In wow, 20 years ago I could control my pet companion to fight, tank (and later on even heal) me at my command.

Companions in ESO just get in the way, they stall mobs, they die at the worst time possible. I hate that I can't put a helmet on them when fighitng (I always RP my toons to wear armor in a fight and dawn their helmet).

For me, without the ability to easily control companions in game, I find no use for them.

Yeah, I find the current companions can already find situations to get themselves stuck in without one that actively seeks it out :P (as can I.) Fortunately I haven't actually gotten stuck in ESO, except once I believe, I managed to get blasted behind a wall in a dungeon somehow? and couldn't get out, so had to I think teleport out of the dungeon and go back in? But I can't remember what dungeon it was, may have been part of a main quest line quest. Single player games? If there is a hole somewhere to get stuck in, I will find it. One game I got so stuck in that there was literally only ONE hit to the query of how on earth do I get out, as saving and reloading did NOT fix the issue, and it was a lone youtube video that didn't even have the solution in the video (fortunately comments did) and it didn't describe the issue. I just recognized the screenshot as looking a lot like what I saw.

Personally, I like companions more like Zerith (I finally got to level 20 with him! now doing Sharp, which I might be able to get his rapport up a bit as well since I am running around Clockwork City) or would prefer one that had a completely different personality than any of the current companions (have I mentioned I like 'shy' personality at any point? A companion that can come across as 'shy' or 'hesitant' to give their lines would be great to me.) I would also love it if they could give more lines and make it so that rapport unlocks lines with the companions (which I am sure it does already). IE, if you have High Rapport with a companion, instead of the usual line when you enter a city, for example Zerith's 'I have read about this in a book!' line, you get a different one. This would allow the progression of 'I barely know you, so why would I share this information out loud with you' to 'hey, we are good friends, I am going to share ALL my thoughts with you!'. I also think it would allow a bit more of the personality to come out AND get rid of some of the same tired lines you hear all the time (I know Zerith. You are amazed at the time I am living in because they aren't staring at you. I know this city isn't like the city in the book you read and you aren't sure if it was this city. I KNOW.)

With Sharp, if you're not into fishing, just doing regular repair and charging of your gear, and grabbing any heavy sack you see, will get you a fair bit of gain.

That is one of my favourite lines from him too.

I even made him a special little fishing spot in my main house. Most of my furnishings are found or made by myself, but for Sharp I actually went to buy him a fishing pole rack from the guild store because he is my favourite and gets special treatment like that.

That's when he was put back in the box for me. Looting your comrades is a no no. The only outing he has since was to help my lady lizard get to be Master Angler, then back in the box.

Did the opposite for me, I wanted to cut his head off. Unfortunately that's not possible. I wasn't even a Dark Elf at the time, but my lady lizard.

Funny, it rarely happens to me (except of one spot somewhere around Woodhenge, but that's a mountainous place, so it's almost rather realistic to have the risk to fall into a crevice and never resurface again), but a friend who plays a Bosmer main literally gets stuck everywhere, including behind nightstands. And in one of my houses I had to free him from... what was it... I think he got stuck behind a curtain or something like that? Is that possible? :D In any way, it was funny. For me.

If they'd make some of the already established npcs a companion, I'd love to have either Fennorian or Revus Demnevanni. Well no, not either - both :p
Did the opposite for me, I wanted to cut his head off.

Same. But I still need him. Didn't steal his his first owner's research notes for no reason.

For me.

I'm not quite sure if a companion screaming for his life, running away and begging for mercy in combat somehow contradicts the idea of ESO's companions, but I have to say it would amuse me to great extent.

It would sort of amuse me as well, though that isn't quite what I meant by shy.

They could intersperse the dialogue of begging for mercy with dialogue of profuse gratitude when you kill something :P

I've been known to fall in any kind of hole in the terrain. If there's a hole, crevice in the rocks, or inconveniently placed stump, I will end up stuck without fail.

Oh, I also ended up stuck inside of a box I had delibrately climbed in once-that was fun. Then there was the time I fell off of a mountainside and landed perfectly in a tree with no fall damage, only to realize I was stuck in it.

I'm getting a mammoth mount when they come out just so that I stop getting dismounted in puddles :D

I can remember that in the earlier days of ESO, Bosmer characters could also get stuck in quests once in a while, because they were too short to pull a lever in some ruins to progress to the next room :D

I'd really like a silt hopper for my dunmer characters as well. I feel like there's a good chance we might get one in the future since we aren't the only ones to mention wanting it, and it seems like they're inclined to make new mounts lately. Also, yes to a two seater. Poor Azandar needs me ZOS, I can't just leave him to ride through the puddles alone :D

I NEVER in a million years thought they'd actually give us the mammoth, in spite of my enthusiasm whenever they were mentioned. But here we are, so now I only need a silt strider and a four horse chariot in red diamond motif for my Emperor

I had never thought I'd want a two-seater, but when trying out the Gold Road one that we got for free with Azandar, I noticed that I, actually, really really need one :D Also, imagine you're riding a mammoth and your companion rides, let's say, a guar. I wouldn't want my companion to drown somewhere behind me.

Overall I like Sharp and think he's a well designed companion. He fits one of my main characters very well. So, for the most part, I wouldn't mind another companion who's more similar to his personality than, for example, Ember's.

But on the topic of Sharp I don't like those kind of ''breaking the 4th wall'' (if that's even the right term here) comments like ''skill issue,'' since that specific line is kind of a modern gamer phrase. It's not too bad, but I'd prefer if companions don't feel like 21st century gamers.

Tanlorin's ''heavy sack hehe'' line is the same issue for me. ''Heavy sack'' is the name given to the in-game item of a bag of materials and resources. Nirn isn't filled with identical looking sacks of materials that everyone on the continent of Tamriel all calls heavy sacks. They exist as they do in the game because it's a video game. Tanlorin's reference to essentially the meme of the same being suggestive screams haha this is a video game! Please no. It's so unimmersive.

In terms of more general companion wishes, I'm also someone who's looking for someone scholarly and mer-y. I'm kind of flabbergasted the devs didn't go this route with the first altmer companion.

I still want someone perfect for my main main character who currently rotates between Azandar, Zerith-var, and Mirri, since they're all the closest for what I'm looking for in different ways character design wise. Personality wise my ideal is a mature version of Mirri, like Zerith-var's maturity, with Azandar's scholar vibe and lean to magic and research.

For me, while I don't tend to get stuck often (I usually can get out), mountains and sunsets are my bane. I can't tell you how many times I have been walking, admiring a sunset or sunrise, and all of a sudden I am looking like Wile E Coyote wondering where the ground was, only for it to find me.

Or I want to see what is below this nice huge cliff. I usually find out. Painfully.

Overall, back to the topic, I would prefer more unique personalities, rather than just rehashing personalities. There are a lot of things they could do and I honestly would be afraid that if they did end up 'making another companion like Sharp' that it would just feel like a reskin of Sharp and not its own character.

Sharing some aspects is great, but then you have to get into exactly what makes Sharp 'cool' and I am sure most people have their own ideas of that.

I never had that happen. My main always ends up doing questionable things with Azandar at wayshrines, though.

The other way round, I wouldn't mind at all if they'd avoid aspects in future companions (and other npcs) that didn't go down well with the audience. Like obtrusive "flirtiness". Yes, it's that topic again :p And if they insist on continuing to create "flirty" npcs, I'm still waiting for an option to give them a nice knuckle sandwich. Each one of them. Repeatedly. A keyboard has over 100 keys, there should be one left for a "punch npc" function :p
