Nah, i think they ran out of dk skiil between her and Basten so they just filled the gap with a world skill line. The next 2 will likely fill those same gap with vampire and werewolf or other remaining class now that we have subclass comming

There were plenty more DK skills they could've used. They even started making "morphs" of DK Companion skills.

ZOS really wanted to emphasize the importance of Soul Magic to the character, hence the replacement of the damage dealer skill line (which always has the Companion's personalized Ultimate) with that of Soul Magic.


Still, think about the possibilities now that players can mix and match Class skill lines! Surely future Companions will come with mixed Class skill lines, too.

Well, obviously what Tanlorin is doing isn't explicitly Subclassing. It just looks identical to what players will be able to do; albeit using a non-Class skill line in place of a Class skill line.

I think it's important to credit Tanlorin for being the first example of Class skill lines being swapped out.
