The standard Werewolf model is missing some detail

I came across this thread today in the General section, which was created in 2014:

So I tried 1.5 and 1.5.1 on PTS, and loved the new changes in regards to werewolf, especially the new look (looks like a wolf-man monster rather than a bipedal Tasmanian devil) but now that the update has come to live I noticed something different.

This is what the new WW looked like in PTS:

And here's what they look like in live as of 1.5:

I'm wondering if the removal of additional fur was intentional? I mean sure, in PTS the fur meshes were a bit blocky, but they still looked awesome. Now my character just feels naked without them (well, technically even more naked...) and it's sort of weird to look at now. Both these screenshots were taken of a berserker morphed werewolf. Is this a bug? (sort of hope it gets fixed if it is...)

This thread seems to imply that some change was made to the Werewolf model that could be considered a bug, yet it was not reported as one. Since I was not around in 2014 to experience how the model should've looked, I'll share some of my own insights from what I can find on Live.

First, here's a comparison between the old model and the new (bugged) model:

What I find interesting is that this extra detail that was lost on the standard Werewolf model (used by players and NPCs alike) is actually still present on a different variant of the Werewolf model. I'm referring to this version of the model used by characters like Faolchu and Packleader Sigmund:

That extra fur on the top of the model that's used in this variant of the model used to be on the main Werewolf model, as seen in the smaller image. Yet, the detail is now missing from the main Werewolf model, while the detail remains (to this day) on the other variant of the model, as seen in the larger image.

I am under the impression that the detail being gone from the Werewolf model is a bug because:
  1. It vanished without an explanation, leaving people doubtful over its intentionality.
  2. The detail is still present on an alternate version of the model.
    • If the change was intentional, both models would've been updated to remain consistent.
  3. The main model looks worse for lacking the extra detail, which surely wasn't intentional.

Let's definitely add this to the list of things that werewolves need to be fixed/adjusted. There are so many details in normal armor skins and so little detail in the werewolf models.

I took another screenshot of the character model in-game:

And here are some examples of older versions of the model which have the missing detail:

Here's a video which showcases the model with the missing detail using the white werewolf fur texture:

Finally, here's another image which compares the changes between the models:

The point is that the current model looks smooth without the missing detail. That same sort of detail persisted on the werewolf's elbows and tail, yet it vanished from the neck/back, leaving a smooth silhouette.
