Is there a way to Dismiss Crown Store offers?

I know I am never going to use Tanlorin and would like to be able to dismiss this offer so its huge banner doesn't appear every time I look at ESO+ deals. I'd really like to be able to dismiss both of the new Companion offers but don't want to permanently remove Zerith-Var in case I choose to unlock him some day.

Is there a way to archive these so they don't keep showing up every day?

    Nope

It’s sorta like advertisements. Their priority is monetization in the game so it’ll always be thrown at ya when loading up the launcher, logging in, daily reset, etc.

Only option would be an addon that suppresses it potentially

I would normally just let them disappear as the offer ends, but I believe these will be free to ESO+ forever. I just want this out of my face.

I wonder if putting in a ticket would do any good?

I still get them despite owning them. Claiming them just changes them from unowned to owned, it doesn't start the quest or add them to collections.

I really don't think a ticket would do anything, since everyone gets the same ads and you can just ignore them.

the no thank you addon can block the big "announcement" window that pops up on login (which usually contains offers or whatnot for the crown store)

i dont think theres any way to hide stuff thats say in the crown store itself

i wasnt aware there was any big banners like that in the crown store, unless your talking about the announcement window

Maybe zos will remove it from being a featured offer eventually - I imagine they'll release new things they want to feature but there's just not a lot of new stuff in the game in general right now. I don't think addons are able to control what appears in the crown store though... that's kind of zos' realm to advertise what they want.

I mean - if you don’t want the offer to be there, you could just claim it and do the first quest. It will then be out of sight out of mind and you don’t have to ever go to collections to summon them.

If you really don’t like them, you could put on some music for distraction and mute the game, and the quest is simple enough it’s just fast traveling through 6 zones mostly.

If you really can’t stomach it you could ask a friend/family member nearby to spend 20min clicking through quest for you.

There is no way I will ever unlock Tanlorin or start that quest chain. This is not an option for me.

I just want it to get out of my face when I look to see if there are any new ESO+ featured items.

You could put in a ticket - but I'm betting they'll just blow you off. They really aren't going to care about one person who doesn't want to see one CS item.

Just wait a while. Eventually they’ll cycle out of being the “new thing” and you’ll get something else to replace the featured offer.

Yeah, this is the best solution. Personally, I'd just claim both Companions from the Crown Store and delete their quests from your journal; you can always change your mind and start their quests from your Collections tab once you've claimed them.

I'm sorry you won't give Tanlorin a chance. I personally thought they were a good Companion, and I've set them up with a really effective single target damage over time build. Maybe the next batch of Companions would be more favorable?

That's what I did. They're free. I don't use companions, probably won't ever, but they don't take up any space sitting in limbo....

Isn't it just on the page under 'featured'? Or am I missing where the announcements are?

If you mean the announcement page that pops up every time you log in, it only ever pops up once a day and never again if you dismiss it unless you didn't claim your daily reward.

Anthing else talking about companions is just part of the page and not an in your face ad, so you really juat need to change pages or move on.

Making a political statement works best when it's inconvenient for you to do so.

Or you could just unlock the companion, abandon the quest and never start it again. If they even look at those metrics, "didn't want the item even for free" will have only slightlly more impact than "got the free item but never used it".

Please don't clog up the CS system with stuff like that. If you don't like an advert, just ignore it, like everyone else does. If you want to make a political statement, sitting behind your keyboard and abusing the CS of an MMORPG computer game is probably not the most effective way.

What's wrong with Tanlorin? Genuinely my favourite companion design by far. I've only done the first quest to unlock them and used them a little (focusing on getting Zerith maxed first), but I didn't see a problem so far.

Yes I would also like to know what the OP's beef is with Tanlorin in particular. So much so, that they cannot abide to see an advertisement for them flash up on their screen for a few seconds when they first log on. What could possibly be so wrong with them to warrant such a strong reaction to even a mere still image of them?

Is it the purple hair highlights?

    Questions still remain...

    I don't see a problem.

Hit ESC to cancel the screen.

Or click on the Daily Login Rewards Window.

Both actions immediately take the advertisement screen out of ones face, what's to complain about?

Why not? Takes less effort to just claim them and then forget them.

I think we already know the answer, sadly....

I don't like Tanlorin for personal reasons. I tried doing their quest and how they spoke to my character upset me and left me feeling uneasy. But I know the reason why is very specific and most people actually like how they flirt and stuff.
But merely seeing Tanlorin doesn't upset me. They're a character that exists, no harm done.
Wishing for Lilmothiit race still! Or maybe Lilmothiit companion?
  • LootAllTheStuff
Flirty companions in a game is ok with me if there's a way to quickly shut that specific interaction line down if you as the player don't want it (whether role-play or personal discomfort reasons - that doesn't matter). But ESO companions are nowhere near that sophisticated in implementation, which makes it a bit awkward.

Actually, I'd love to be able to choose responses to any of the companions on their banter, which could then fine tune which ones you hear. But that's quite a bit of programming to add in. For example, I'd love to tell Bastiaan "There's a potion for that!" and stop his griping about cheese once and for all!

My issue with Tanlorin is more with ZOS and how they presented them. But regardless of my personal views I think it would be nice if we could dismiss these ads and decline offers we don't want once we've seen them.

You can place them in your player house if you level them up.

I already stated I don't want them. I certainly don't want them in my house.

What's even the point of going on and on about this? People on the forums made the best suggestions they can - no one on the forums is able to make Tanlorin disappear from the crown store. Zos is unlikely to spend time changing the functionality of the crown store to allow players to hide offers that they *want* to market to players. Even if they decide to do so, there isn't another major update to the game for months, by which time the featured offers my change anyway. Probably just gonna have to learn to ignore the offer and be patient till something new comes along, but I mean good luck.

I've repeated a few time now that since there doesn't seem to be a way to dismiss offers I'm not interested in I will just wait for them to be replaced by new features.

I have my answer so we can close this thread now.
