Yeah, this is the best solution. Personally, I'd just claim both Companions from the Crown Store and delete their quests from your journal; you can always change your mind and start their quests from your Collections tab once you've claimed them.

Yes I would also like to know what the OP's beef is with Tanlorin in particular. So much so, that they cannot abide to see an advertisement for them flash up on their screen for a few seconds when they first log on. What could possibly be so wrong with them to warrant such a strong reaction to even a mere still image of them?
Is it the purple hair highlights?
