In terms of visuals and aesthetics I like flame damage, followed by shock. In terms of game combat, physical damage, because I like playing with daggers/greatswords/bows more compared to staves. Lyris said it best

Whatever makes the enemy health bar drop faster.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Simple and straightforward damage. Procs sundered, applying minor breach and increasing weapon/spell damage by 100 for 4s.

I like Oblivion damage as a concept, except the enchant is currently way too weak in today's meta and far less powerful than the AoE Occult Overload for whatever reason.

I wish there were more to differentiate the damage types than just different status effects. They could at least make different enemies vulnerable/resistant to lore-appropriate damage types.

That's actually how it used to be a long time ago, sometime before One Tamriel I estimate. Skeletons/spirits could not bleed for example, but I guess they wanted to simply things.
