How do you Proc Force Pulse's Cleave Damage?

Blastbones adds the diseased status, I'm trying to figure out if this is a lasting status or purely instant whereby hitting enemies with blastbones and then forcepulse would or wouldn't proc the cleave damage.

Has anyone tested this and can confirm?
Thx in advance

All status effects last 4 seconds, even if their damage is instant, because instant-damage status effects also apply associated (de)buffs.

The damage from Diseased is instant, but the Defile from applying the status effect lasts 4 seconds, so the status effect is considered to be in effect for the whole time.

This was clarified when Force of Nature was being introduced and bugfixed. If instant-damage status effects were only in effect instantaneously, FoN would effectively have only three status effects to proc from instead of eight, and it would be badly in need of rebudgeting.

Haven’t tested this specifically with Force Pulse, but I’ll see if I can find time.

I'm pretty sure status effects caused by pets (like Blastbones) aren't counted as your own for the purposes of activating sets and the like. I'd test using an ability that doesn't involve creating an NPC that deals damage for you.
