PTS Update 44 - Feedback Thread for Skill Styles

This is the official feedback thread for the Skill Styles. Specifically, the focus is on testing how the new Skill Styles function. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
- Which Skill Styles did you focus on collecting?
- Were you able to figure out how to unlock any Skill Styles you were interested in?
- What did you think about how Skill Styles were acquired?
- Did you find Skill Styles to be a good way to help customize your character?
- Did any of the new styles stand out as particularly impressive?
- Do you have any other general feedback?

✭✭✭I feel very negatively about skill styles in the Crown Store. The new "New Life Styles: Winter" are really neat (especially the Crit Charge and Meteor, less so the Volley), but they should absolutely be earnable event rewards and not a crown store item.15 -

✭I'm really happy to see that Slate-Gray Summoned Bear is now considered a Skill Style! This is a massive step forward for expanding the Skill Styling system. Maybe we can see additional Feral Guardian Skill Styles added in the future?
Above all, I'd really like to see Werewolf Transformation Skill Styles made in the same vein as the Slate-Gray Summoned Bear Skill Style. Here's a few design ideas:
PC/NA — Lone Werewolf, the Templar Khajiit Werewolf
Werewolf Should be Allowed to Sneak
Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).4 -

SillyGT✭✭✭✭on the pts im not sure where to find the new class skill styles. I feel like I looked in every container, I found the container with the older ones like momentum, twin slashes, destruction staff ultimate.0 -
Morvan✭✭✭✭Werewolf and Blood Scion could definitely make use for styles, WW already have several different colors that could be used, as mentioned above, and Blood Scion could get a Bloodknight style, maybe? ✭On Week 1 of the PTS, I ended up getting the Accelerate Skill Style from the very first Psijic Portal I opened. I don't have a frame of reference for how rare those are supposed to be, but I hope it's not as difficult a grind as the one for the lead from Southern Elsweyr Psijic Portals.
Additionally, I have a few suggestions for non-Werewolf Transformation Skill Styles for Werewolf:- While thinking about Roar, Verdant Green, I realized that it'd be pretty cool to get an "icy" Skill Style for Roar. It'd probably be like the icy breath attack that Werewolf Behemoths can use — and, it'd be fun to use with white fur for an "ice wolf" look and build.
- I know the VFX of Infectious Claws is already red, but maybe a Skill Style could be made to make that skill look more visceral, like a blood-themed swiping attack. It'd also give context as to why Claws of Life is a lifesteal ability.
- Hircine's Bounty could be given any color and still work. Green is the first color that comes to mind, for thematic purposes.
- Piercing Howl has one of the more mundane VFX in the kit. Though, maybe it could be given an orange or "fire" Skill Style just for fun — you could be a fire-breathing werewolf.
- Finally, Pounce could be given a Harrowstorm-themed Skill Style, which changes the VFX of the dust that's kicked up, as well as the VFX of the Carnage claw swipe. It'd be cool to roleplay as a werewolf from the Gray Host.

✭✭✭✭I am still desperately waiting for styles for the werewolf fur color.
My main werewolf should have brown fur. I know I'm losing a lot of damage by keeping the transformation unmorphed, but it's just wrong to see him with black fur. Please let us use those different fur colors as styles instead of forcing them as morph colors!2 -

You have to go under the collections/appearance menu not the crown store.

Almakor✭✭✭Are there styles that change the apperance effect when the skill activates? Not just the color. It's hard for me to notice. For example, puslar could look more like water ripples.Edited by Almakor on 15 November 2024 17:540
