Would you like an Antiquity Event that increases the chance of leads?

I posted the poll and just for clarification I should say that I am not asking about an event that includes tickets. I visualized the event more like the current experience boost mini event.

I like the idea of faster levelling of antiquity skills during the event.

They don't need a new event as if ZOS actually wanted to make player's lives better (their approach to the new Q3 releases suggest that they don't) then the answer is right there in front of them. Update the existing Greymoor event so that during it your antiquity skill lines increase faster and all leads have an improved drop chance. Thieve's Guild event ? Your legerdemain skill line increases at a faster rate and heists reward more XP towards the Thieve's Guild skill line. Dark Brotherhood event ? Contracts reward more XP towards your Dark Brotherhood skill line.

The options are there if ZOS wanted them but they apparently don't. If it's felt that there would be too many events or that the events would be spaced out too far apart then that's easy to resolve. ZOS have shown that they can combine multiple zone events into one event (Year One Celebration, Daedric War Celebration etc.) so they can do more of that. Update the base events to include the improvements and then run them at the same time in the form of one overarching event.

But this current event already provides faster leveling of antiquity skills. Twice as fast. That 100% boost applies to all game activities. Including leveling scrying and excavation.

No, it doesn't. The event gives a boost to experience points earned from all activities but skill lines like antiquities, Thieve's Guild, Dark Brotherhood, ledgerdemain etc. don't increase based on normal experience points.

If you want an easy demonstration of this, go and complete a quick Dark Brotherhood (DB) contract because as standard they give five points to your DB skill line for a contract to kill one person and 10 points to your DB skill line for a contract to kill three people. Do a contract during the event and you'll see that those are still the points being awarded and they are not being doubled, which they should be if what you said is correct.

I like your ideas. I agree multiple zone events like the One Tamriel event coming up, and other events you have mentioned, would be good events to include your ideas in the future.

Antiquities remain fun to me, only because I keep them a sporadic activity. I go only for unknown and yellow ones, ignoring all others, what means scrying/digging less than once a week.

I wouldn't take part in such an event, because to go for several antiquities in a row would be grinding to me, what I never ever do in ESO.

It will never happen, but I would like every event to have special event-related lead drops. Even if it's just a treasure you can sell for 100g, though some interesting furnishings could be nice. No mythics please.

The problem with a lot of antiquity leads is they are often locked behind content you don't want to do. And if you enjoy just antiquities, just scrying and digging, this is a problem. Unfortunately, buying leads from the IA requires you to, well, do IA. If you really hate it, no leads.

Likewise with dungeons. Not everyone enjoys them, well, the vast majority of people just want to run through a dungeon like an Orcs Must Die match and take little interest in the stories or surroundings. And apparently it's a really super-horrible idea to have story-mode dungeons that let you enjoy the dungeon and still give you drops and leads.

So I don't think we need an event especially for leads. But I would love to get leads for pumpkin cookies at Halloween, and Candy Canes at Christmas, for example. Maybe even leads for some of the stuff sold by the event merchant.

No, this would be another grindy band-aid solution like the IA vendor that sells leads. Fix the real problem.

The leads being sold are ones everyone already has also
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

Yes, they are selling the easy ones, not many of the treasure map leads or the dungeon boss leads, or the IA leads like the furnishings.

ZOS is stuck in early 2000s mmo elements with outdated systems. They use RNG on EVERYRHING just because they can.

Why do we need to farm leads instead of it being an 100% chance to drop ?
Because you need to stay in game more duh!

Why did they make events this year for un tradable style pages with low drop rates ?

Because it boosted the player count and use the good ole FOMO tactic to scare people into a get it or it’s gone forever system.

Why do we have caps on transmutes tied to arguably one of the most important systems in the game ?

    To extend your game time.

I’m not one to farm or grind for the sake of X Y Z item or skin. I don’t care that much for the stuff but a lot of people do.

I find it quite depressing actually they use soo many different tactics to boost player count and in game time that they do every dirty trick in the book and every shameful tactic known to man in gaming just so their game looks popular and healthy from the outside. Instead of actually putting in the hard work of making a better game.

If you actually put your time, effort, hard work, heart and soul into something you genuinely care about and want to see grow. Then they wouldn’t have to use every back handed tactic in the book to get people to online. You would just have to actually put in the work to make a great product that’s worth playing instead of what ESO is now that is an chore and feels like a second job when I get home and want to relax.

I just want to get this mythic so I run a dungeon and kill the boss but nope. I have to run it 25 times for the sake of RNG and other people saying YoU jUsT eVeRyThInG hAnDeD tO yOu.

No I don’t but I’m grown with a family and kids and an full time job and the last thing I need is a game forcing me to kill a boss 20 times instead of once just for the sake of it.

I don’t care how you spin it people leave over that crap and have and I’m not too far out the door myself. I got better things to do then farm 1 *** lead for 2 weeks because that’s just how it is. Man *** that.

Wish they put even a quarter of the time into the game like they do for all this other bs then people would play your game and have fun instead of treating it like a second job where you don’t even get paid to be here.

It would make some of the more terrible leads less miserable to farm like that Kilt segment in Shadowfen that is just awful.
