Pale Order lead from Bad Man's Hallows | No lead years later

Pale Order lead from Bad Man's Hallows, No lead years later...Farmed it when it came out...nothing. Been here a few days running in a loop - Nothing. This is poor game design tied to old thinking. Let's hope it's retired soon and newer systems of rewards come about.

I'd rather be given kill 10,000 skeletons...this feels like a senseless lack of creativity.

That's some especially vindictive RNG. Sure it was the worst grind of the leads for me too but I got it within a week at most.

Something has to be up. Check you scryable list, maybe you picked it up without noticing?

    This lead is horrible!

I had the same experience until very recently when it finally deigned to drop.

The mob density is not high enough in that dungeon to support such a tiny percentage drop chance.

I think I spent about 3 months on and off trying to get that drop. It really is too much to go there every day for a week, run round in loops, get no reward, think "I can't be bothered with this anymore"... give up, only to go back a week later to do the whole thing again.

Soul destroying to keep think "Maybe this time" when it isn't. Not helped by other people saying "Oh yeah, terrible grind... took a week".

Having said that, I did get it! :)

It's a horrible RNG for this lead. I have farmed 3 POs in my time. The first one took hours, the second took hours, the third took seconds.

I have had worse RNGs, currently 48 dead SS dragons and the lead hasn't dropped.

Always double-check your leads, too. I once had one and didn't know it and kept farming. Another time I a lead Scried and i forgot about it.

I checked, I wish it were there. Been there for a few days straight, hoping for better luck. This is 2 leads in-game that just will NOT drop for me. Both have been extreme commitment's, Pale Order Bad Man's Hallows and Torc Strand Blackheart Haven.

    It's just not fun. =)

I commend your patience and dedication-- I would have long quit already, haha.

I got this lead within an hour and it's sad to see some people going ridiculous amounts of time trying to farm things in this game just because of terrible RNG (RIP me as well who had been trying to get the Captain Kaleen fabric scraps for over a year).

The only one I thought was worse was the watchling lead for Mora's Whispers. That took forever.

I already have a 3/3 codex for this ring and finished the last entry recently.
I don't remember the first dig but i remember that for 2/3 codex this Lead drop unexpectedly very fast (after about like 20min) and for 3/3 codex I spent around 2 hours in that PB.

People have been noticing for a while that lead two tends to be SIGNIFICANTLY rarer, while three drops almost instantly with a lot of antiquities

Like I have dug a lot of stuff and the vast majority is 3/3 codex but I don't have a downright significant difference in drop Leads between 2/3 and 3/3 entries (maybe I don't register it?).

I know I read in another forum thread that the RNG in ESO is done based on some "seads", that every first log in on a given day determines how your RNG rolls and whether you have a "good" or "bad" day from a Leads RNG perspective (that's kind of how it's described there).
    I don't know if it's true or not but personally I'd rather have for example a 20% chance of a drop 7 days a week than a 5% chance 4 days a week and a 40% chance 3 days a week...

Just to say: With the release of Gold Road, ZOS made the 1st lead drop rates for each of the antiquities very very high - 75% to 100%. 2nd iteration onwards they return to the more sadistic RNG.

They should have backfilled the code for ALL prior leads to be like this.

Might be a bit superstitious but I feel like the drop rate for new leads are higher the closer to their release date they are. Trying to farm leads that are a few years old are quite the pain in my experience :D

Yea, it feels bugged. Running around the same dark tunnel for 5-9 hours at a time with no end in sight is such an old idea of fun.

I really wish ZOS/ESO would retire these systems. It's the worst style of repetitive gameplay and it's boring. It's a game. Why does ZOS keep designing something so tedious and calling it fun...

In one of Nefas videos he relates a story about a player who did vMA over 200 times without getting the bow (this was before the stickerbook days). When he took to the forums to complain about it, one of the devs suggested he look at the guild traders as someone surely had a spare one they were willing to sell. That player quit PvE after that.

All games have grind, and to their credit ZOS have added ways to remove a lot of that grind, making ESO better than most. That said, personally I'd like to see them introduce dynamic drops rates, based on number of kills etc. They in effect have dynamic drop rates already on the Gold Road leads, so I don't see why they can't implement this.

I am increasingly convinced the Devs - Don't PvP or they Play in Ballgroups, and the Devs - Don't play the game's systems in any meaningful way beyond the design phase.

    !!IMPORTANT!!!
Check, if you have an active Lead, that ALSO drops in Bad Man's Hollow. It could be preventing additional drops of leads, if they share the same loot table.
I am specifically thinking about the Band of Water, a Lead for the Ring of the Wild Hunt. But honestly, every Lead that drops in Glenumbra could be a culprit.

RnG as bad as described by OP is far from normal and strongly indicates a mechanic that prevents dropping.
And it has been theorised that there is are hidden boosts to RnG the fewer active Leads there are in your inventory. Obviously that cannot be proven and so I mark it as theory. But it has been observed many times, that if you have no luck with a drop and then sweep your inventory (only the default green treasure leads are active), you will have the lead in question within a few tries.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

The other gold lead keeps dropping, I finally went and grabbed it twice. It drops from the chests, I feel bad so I don't open them anymore, since a bunch of other folks come in in waves, I want the chests to be there for them (I don't need another gold jewel box :) ).

Feeling guilt now. Doing companion levelling. Mage guild quest today was to Bad Man's Hallow. Killed 2 mob packs, then group boss. Lead dropped.
