I did manage to get in after at least 24 hours of patching. Then it was 'patching' again during the scheduled maintenance (not surprisingly) and it's now been patching again for the past 24 hours or so. No event tickets for me today

Since I'd just applied the patch, I figured I probably didn't need another one, so what I did wasIt found a couple of old files with "partial" in their names (IIRC), which it deleted, then it was able to launch ESO successfully.
- dismiss the error message,
- open the ESO Launcher settings,
- select the option to check for and remove outdated files the next time the ESO Launcher starts,
- close the launcher,
- then launch the ESO Launcher again.
Unfortunately, if GeForce Now is patching you can't even get to the Steam launching page, so there's no way to change the settings.
