I can't see any notes about patches, plus they usually happen at 3-4am Pacific? Anyone else experiencing this? I'm on Nvidia GeForce Now via Steam.

I figured it out, but we need someone from ZOS to reach out to NvIdia GeForce Now. The client they are launching from Steam looks like its the old one....

Last Patch Client should have been at V10.1.7 (from Sep 15th)
The Client that is currently starting up in your Nvidia GeForce Now for Steam is V10.1.5 (from Aug 14th)

It says it's patching now and will be ready to play "in a few hours".
It's a tradition, or an old charter, or something...

yeah, it's weird because there was no patch. I got an email saying that the old Client was there because of a "patch". Which makes me think some people there dont have a clue. At least we're back in now.

I'm not - after 12 hours it's still patching and will be ready "in a few hours".

    Greetings,

This thread has been moved to the Mac Technical Support section, as it is better suited there.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Have you been able to get back into ESO after running the update?

Thanks for asking, @ZOS_Bill :) I did manage to get in after at least 24 hours of patching. Then it was 'patching' again during the scheduled maintenance (not surprisingly) and it's now been patching again for the past 24 hours or so. No event tickets for me today :'(

It's a nice idea to be able to play ESO with my phone and gamepad while I'm on vacation. But with 48+ hours 'patching' (excluding the maintenance) in 6 days, GeForce Now doesn't seem to live up to expectations.

Please keep us updated on if you run into any issues with the patching not finishing this second time.

I don't use GeForce Now, but I do use Steam, and IIRC I may have gotten that message (or something like it) after I installed the latest patch (Monday's patch) on my MacBook Air. Since I'd just applied the patch, I figured I probably didn't need another one, so what I did was
    • dismiss the error message,
    • open the ESO Launcher settings,
    • select the option to check for and remove outdated files the next time the ESO Launcher starts,
    • close the launcher,
    • then launch the ESO Launcher again.
It found a couple of old files with "partial" in their names (IIRC), which it deleted, then it was able to launch ESO successfully.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Thanks for your reply :) Unfortunately, if GeForce Now is patching you can't even get to the Steam launching page, so there's no way to change the settings.

@ZOS_Bill - FYI I'm now at 48+ hours and the game is still patching. Luckily I'm home now, so I've got today's tickets and log-in rewards. I don't know if players using GeForce Now on other devices are having the same issue, but on a mobile phone it leaves a lot to be desired.

BTW, why did you move this to the Mac technical support section? You realize Nvidia ia PC/Steam enviroment.
