The official statement + the official e-mail response to appeals should be sufficient evidence. I understand being skeptical but official statements corroborate. They just were smart about it and ended the banning spree prior to the weekend when ZOS_Kevin stated they'd have an answer for us the following week. They took their sweet time responding, while also not proceeding with the ban wave, hoping we'd forget. And it seems to have worked, as many have forgotten, and there are still a great number who doubt it ever happened at all despite the admission from the devs.
