New players are excluded from PvP

    Ball groups, which are essentially unkillable thanks to this mechanic, have become a scourge in Cyrodiil.
    They're not fun to be part of, and they're certainly not fun to fight against.
    These groups dominate the battlefield, making it nearly impossible for other players to enjoy the experience.
    The trial group approach to PvP, which may be the root of many performance issues, has compromised the experience for everyone else, leaving little room for solo players or smaller groups to find success or enjoyment.

    Further exacerbating the problem is the damage reduction across the board that came with update 35. The decrease in damage from heavy attacks, dots, and light attacks has made it even harder to break through these tanky builds. This reduction has sapped much of the intensity and danger from PvP, making battles feel drawn-out and unsatisfying.

    The lack of new players in PvP is a critical issue because it prevents the community from growing and diversifying. Without fresh participants, the PvP scene becomes stagnant, with the same veteran players dominating the field. This leads to fewer battles, less variety in playstyles, and an overall decline of PvP. As veteran players eventually leave due to frustration or burnout, there will be no new blood to replace them, ultimately leading to the slow death of PvP in ESO.
    To make PvP in ESO fun and engaging again, these issues must be addressed. Population balance, the overwhelming tank meta, cross-healing, and the impact of damage reductions all need urgent attention.
    Without meaningful changes, the exodus of PvP players will continue...

    So, I've been with the game for years and I've experienced everything you've described and have almost come to the conclusion that I too am excluded from PvP :)

    We're all experiencing these same problems, although I guess yeah, it's just worse for new folks, but not by much. I have several good PvP builds, expensive builds, made utterly useless by many of the ailments you described. Its become so bad overtime that its everywhere, on every server and is everyone's problem now.

    You have to join an active pvp guild! They are out there! Always get into a pvp guild, I would recommend a casual one that runs every night.

    While I don't doubt there are some good PvP Guilds out there, I generally don't trust most Guilds until they've done something to earn my trust. Which if they are legit and well intentioned this is never a big deal.

    I understand the sentiment but sometimes you just have to jump in and try it out. If you don’t vibe with them you can move on and try again. Meanwhile you can still get some practice in playing with a group.

    Under 50 is dead and should be reworked into Under X Champion Points, so that it actually serves new players learning to PvP, not a playground for 2400cp vets on minmax smurfs to farm noobs and crown their 12th different emperor alt.

    That or don't allow anything except crafted sets. U50 started to die when players were able to run full end-game proc set-ups (minus mythics) through the stickerbook.

    Most of the best PvP sets in the game are crafted. Adding a restriction like that to Under-50 wouldn't do anything to fix the smurf problem.

    I disagree with OP.

    The game has its pay 2 win aspects. Yet, if you join a guild with numbers you can some what by pass things of this nature.
    It is not a perfect solution besides paying to win and farming all the necessary gear.

    The best thing a new player can do is to play their strengths within the three base roles with the the gear they can get.
    Then expand on this as they go.

    There is not going to be any new developments for pvp.

    That being said, there is really not much you can do unless you just love the game for the little you can do as is.

    You can play ball group. You can play solo. You can group play.

    When the maps get flipped by overwhelming numbers I personally take to making it a bad day for them by camping towns. That usually changes the mind set of pve'rs in cyrodiil.

    But even then you can just get a ball group to try and overrun the solo or small group pvp'ers.

    If its disappointing change your game play style because nothing new is coming. Hope that helps.

    As an influencer, streamer, and game reviewer with over 300 reviews, 800 followers on Twitch, and 1,600 followers on TikTok, I understand the responsibility that comes with my platform. Our role as influencers is to set a positive example, and I want to make it clear that I do not condone actions that go against the Terms of Service (TOS) or End User License Agreements (EULA) of any platform or community. Even though societal norms have evolved, and what was once deemed acceptable behavior in the past is no longer appropriate, I am committed to adapting and ensuring that my actions reflect the values we strive for today.

    I want to go forward with a commitment to better representing the disabled members of our community. I recognize that I may never fully "fit in" or be "normal," but I am dedicated to improving and learning from these experiences.
