Knockback Equity

Im not sure why elemental explosion knocks back further than trample? They both have a 2 second cast time. I want knockback equity!

Edit: misstated trample cast time (actually 1.5 seconds) but the argument still stands with similar benefits and drawbacks from each ability.

I also find this odd because Elemental explosion can be cast from the safety of range, whereas trample you need to be in your enemies face. I think it would be reasonable for you guys to take a look at this and consider.

Trample should grab all the players is hits and drag them along. That be way cooler.
Here $15, goat mount please. Not gambling or paying 45 : lol :
20% base speed for high ping players.
Streak moves you faster then speed cap.
They should of made 4v4v4v4 instead of 8v8.

It wouldn’t look cool at all in eso. Besides, knockback already does almost exactly that.

To correct you trample had a cast time of 1.5sec and knockback on elemental explosion has been reduced already. And whatever it’s worth it is easier to control the direction of knockback with trample than with elemental explosion

Oh, thank you for that correction yes I misstated the cast time. And yea I know they are reducing the knock back to 10 meters for elemental explosion. What I think is - Despite the good point you raise about directional control - I think there is a case for the trample knockback to be 10 meters too given that elemental explosion is cast from such great range. The benefits and drawbacks of each feel similar in weight

The bigger question is why these skills were implemented to begin with - they are pure troll abilities.

From a PVE perspective, pure fun. From a PVP perspective I would say there are some limited but legitimate use cases.

There are a lot of things that can be called troll abilities and builds - eye of the beholder I guess.

Elemental explosion deals a lot of damage, it is possible to use for ranged bombing or ganking. 10m knockback is still a big distance, so troll pushing from walls/bridges. Dispel can be used in zergs, so not completely useless ig.
Trample is getting major heroism which is pretty but it’s true that it’s not particularly useful on it’s own.

Yeah for PVE I don't think knockback will be that useful, but I laugh out loud every time the trash mob going sailing. Just hilarious!

My point was that the Knockback effect is a pure troll ability (and nobody has changed my mind on that) not the underlying skills themselves.

Knockback/Knock-Up abilities are the most glitched and broken skills in the game (seriously, basically every big source of repeatable de-sync is linked to them, in addition to glitching people into ceilings, walls, etc.) so adding more of them is just BIG OOF.

I get that people like to troll but that also doesn't mean that that is actually good for the game.

I would definitely agree that pull abilities have gone a bit too far, particularly the sets. As far as knockback abilities in pvp, I would not say there is a pandemic. Can’t remember the last time I was knocked back honestly.

Well, that is a separate matter.
Personally, I too think pulls have no place in eso.

I guess some people consider anything that disrupts a ballgroup's ability to stack, or can knock them out of their wall farm, that they can't figure out a way to use themselves, a "troll" ability.

All the more reason to slot it IMO.

To me it just feels logical that when you are fighting on a high spot, you have a chance to be knocked off … and you need to factor that into your positioning / strategy.

And I feel it’s weird to lock the strongest knockback behind a particular weapon type.
