Character Highlight / Glow (solved!)

Is there a way to turn this off on all but enemies or outside of combat? I don’t want to remove the highlight from targeted enemies and lootables, but I can’t find any other way to not have player characters glow blue and my companion glow green every time I look at them. It’s really distracting! I hope there’s a way to fix this in settings (it only started happening recently, since U42 I think), but would welcome an add-on if that’s what it takes.

There is a way it's in the normal game settings, I am not at my PC atm but if nobody has given you the location when I am I will post it.

I know it's there because I had this issue on one of my characters for ages before I found the setting! 🙂

Ok this is the setting I thought it was......

However turning it on and off apparently makes no difference for me now, ofc I could have an addon masking it!

The link below discusses skills that have similar effect, could it be a skill you have slotted?

I tried changing that, but it effects the glows around everything, including enemies.

Thank you for the link — I’ll have to check which of my characters I’m seeing the glow on — one for sure was a nightblade.

Unless there's a new bug, that ally glow only shows up if you have an ally-targetable spell on your bar, like Natures Grasp on warden. In fact, that's the only skill I've seen add that ally glow (not other skills that can hit an ally, like a heal or a damage shield or something). I'm not sure if the new Resto staff tether ability adds it.

Ally-targetable! While doing overland, I would often swap some skills onto my bar, not to use, but to level, and one of them was guard! I don’t normally run around with that skill (or probably any of the ally-targetable skills) so it won’t be an issue.
