Strange new blue/green auras (not orbs) around traders and players

EDIT: @Barrt clarified that it was the shrewd offering ability that creates this effect while slotted (strange that it does that)

Today I had a weird thing happen where I went to my guildhouse after buying something to use the dye station there, and I noticed the banker and merchant assistants had a green glow around them. I thought it was just because I was in the guild house and not mine, but when I left, and went to Stormhaven, all of the quest givers and merchants had green auras around them (like how killable npc's have a grey aura, and enemies have a red one). I then noticed that players started having blue aura's around them too in the same sense - and I don't mean the orb things from wearing certain sets like sanctuary, ebon, etc.

I logged out and back in and it's still there, but switched characters and it isn't. I turned off all addons and it's still there, and I hadn't changed any settings between before I went to the guild house or after, but I did check them to see if anything seemed similar to this and couldn't find it.

Is it a new feature? I asked some friends and it doesn't seem to be happening to them. I mean, it's a nice feature, makes it a little easier to tell players from npc's or traders from non-traders, nothing bad with it, and I'm not complaining about it or anything, just...confused as to how it just suddenly started happening out of nowhere. XD

Here's some pictures of what I mean. Maybe it's a feature that was added in a long time ago and I'm being silly for posting this. :persevere:

Probably the most unimportant thing to post about but eh, I'm curious. It's still happening even after logging in and out several times since then :open_mouth:

I have this same glitch on one of my characters, & its so annoying!

I have prevent attacking innocents ON, & because I couldn't make this aura go away I just took glow down to nothing in my settings...
I have to be really diligent about the loot now though.

Huh, wow, so that was the thing that did it...that's a very strange effect for an ability slotted to have Xd I only just decided to start using it for my thief to self-heal from guards.

Thanks for explaining it though! :)

I think I'll keep it slotted then, cause I kinda like the effect, on top of the self-heal for theiving. :P

    You're welcome!

I wasn't sure if it was that, but I got a similar aura when I put the "healing gap closer" Warden ability on my bar to try it out a while back. It appeared to indicate the "heal-able" targets (blue). And I knew one of the NB skills was changed to a similar thing (healing specific target as opposed to someone "randomly" like all other heals in the game) lately, so it was a reasonable guess it's the one on your bar I am not familiar with.

Yes, it must be the agony redesign (which I now have to try out on my NB alts, I realise :D ).

Since I already have a magwarden that used to heal, I recognized this aura immediately as being tied to the heal skill the nightblades just got. What bothers me is that you can use it on a warden bear, but the warden's heal can't be used on a bear.

Ok you sweet noobs. The color aura is simply a targeting indicator mechanism. If you have a direct (ie not smart casted or aoe) healing skill, it will indicate via color as to whom the recipient is.

As well as whether that target is valid. Blue = something you can affect with the skill; green = non-valid target like an NPC.

Much as a red outline = enemy and yellow outline = neutral so long as you don't *** it off somehow and gray = NPC that's potentially targetable under the "justice" system and for which you'll get a bounty for attacking (unlike yellow outline ones).

Ofc, the red and yellow are more understood / known as they have been in the game since launch. The green and blue auras are fairly new iirc.

Oh, believe me, I was confused at first, too. I was leveling a magicka and a stamina warden at the same time and leveling their skills and trying to test both morphs of each and realized what was up with this at the Ebonheart undaunted enclave and had endless fun pulling myself to people galloping by.

The weirdest such effect is post-duel you become transparent and can see your opponent through your own toon.

Wish this would work out of the box like that, would be a big help to new players if it was part of the games core 'glow' system. That being said, anyone know if someone has made a mod that'll enable this always on mouse hover. Blue for Players Red for mobs (i know it's there by default) Green for NPCs ? If not, anyone fancy making it xD
