In the past, I reported on an issue regarding the Almalexia Patron usage being bugged. The issue is an Agent card may not be used to pay the discard cost of the Almalexia Patron. There is no game rule text that states that the card discarded for Almalexia Patron usage cannot be an Agent card.
I last reported this issue in June.

While there was progress made with the Rajhin bug that had been pointed out in the same thread, the Almalexia bug remains.
In my experience from card gaming, one highly important rule that held to is that the game pieces do what they say they do. Unfortunately, there are several rules within TOT that are either not explained or outright don't work the way they are stated to work.
The way that the Delmene Patron works is one of such issues. One may sacrifice an in play Agent in order to pay the Patron's cost. There is no indication via game rule text that one may pay the cost with an Agent card. As a matter of fact, the Patron says to "Sacrifice 1 card from your played cards pile..." and that means that the Patron doesn't actually work how it says it works.
And that functionality matters alot. As does the Patron functionality of Almalexia that I pointed out today. I still won my game, but I was going for a Patron victory which became too difficult after missing my patron usage during this turn. It's hard to see behind the Almalexia rules, but you will find that I stil had 2 Patron uses for the shown turn in the first image. My plan was to discard my agent card with the Almalexia Patron button and then be able to use the St. Pelin patron button afterward since I would suddenly have an Agent card in my Cooldown pile. So although I would have won this turn, because of this weird unexplained and non-intuitive way that the Almalexia button works, I was temporarily denied victory and that could have been a problem if that had been my only win condition.
Anyhow, I think that this is within the designers wheel house to fix. Or maybe they should just explain that the game pieces are meant to work this way. Whatever...
