Anti-social players and suggestion for extending pugs algorithm

I'd suggest finding a group of others also looking for the lead to run the dungeon together and farm for it, because random groups usually just want a fast run.

Thanks for your suggestion, but asking a group to stop for a couple of seconds is not unreasonable request, IMHO. It's some chests, I'm not asking anyone to let me read whole books while I'm in there. And if they think it is in fact unreasonable that's also fine, but I'll leave and go for a solo run until my queue penalty is over.

It's something I say up front, and most people respond in a normal manner to it. Just like most people don't mind others doing a quest.

I was the one complaining about chests earlier in this thread. That doesn't really work in the dungeon where I need the chests from. Also, I'm not going to scratch the back of anyone that doesn't scratch mine. I rather get a queue penalty and run the dungeon solo on normal than help buttholes. It's literally a couple of seconds extra for them during the run. (And a chance for extra loot, which is what most people are there for anyway).

Today I had another group that kept pulling me into a bossfight, after I warned I was going for chests. Thus, I left them looking for a new healer. And that sure as hell was a group that needed one.

They are by no means obliged to help me, but neither am I.

Sounds like you running the dungeon solo, since you say you can, would be the best solution for everybody in your case.

It doesn't happen often enough to be a problem that requires a solution.

By far most people happily open the chests as wel, especially since I mention it at the start of the dungeon.

To be honest, everytime someone posts an "I did nothing wrong and they kicked me" thread, I wonder what the other side of the story is that made 3 other people vote to kick someone from a short term activity.

Right? I have had universally decent experiences. Some of the vet dungeons have had hit or miss DDs, but none have failed, and I have done 20+ quests this event with randoms pugs and all of them have been super considerate.

I think the key word there is “vet”. I almost exclusively run vet randoms and I have mostly good experiences and good groups. I made a thread about it last weekend and I’ve probably ran 100 vets since then.

But today I spent the day doing random normals on a lowbie toon and it was a completely different experience. Every group was speed running, literally every one. Nobody was working together, nobody listened to anyone asking to wait for quests or stuck behind a door or anything. Just 100% selfishness and it was honestly not a fun experience.

People are so much better on vet, as long as everyone there has the build and skill to play at that level.

There's a new group finder incoming with update 40.

That aside, being vote-kicked by the other 3 group members isn't 'nasty' it's how the system is designed and is working as intended. [snip]

still doesn't mean it isn't nasty

    No one needs the chests.

People that are looking for a lead that only drops in chests in a specific dungeon need the chests.

I had no idea they put leads in specific dungeon chests. That is a really bad idea in my opinion.

only 1 dungeon so far has leads specifically from the chests, which is falkreath hold (i think its for some mythic)

It's impressive how ESO went from interesting MMORPG (big groups, big Cyrodiil fights, dungeons, trials, guilds, community blabla) to single player game (where everyone hates each other and feels entitled to get everything with the push of one button).

And it's a mystery to me why players always jump at each others throats, blaming each other for everything, instead of asking the producers and owners of the game what's going on. Like why does it take 9 years to upgrade the simplest and most useless, yet still most broken dungeonfinder in gaming history? Is it really more important to sell a bunch of broken new stuff all the time instead of fixing the foundation and basic functions of the game? Over 20 million players have played eso? Where are they? ...

I've had this happening as well: clearly saying that I would be looking for chests but the group running ahead. The issue with FH is that if you get pulled in to the third boss fight, you can't go back up the landing that's outside the boss's room, so you have to finish the dungeon, and then run all the way back (you can jump from the stairs outside the last boss room to approximately where the 2nd boss location is, so thankfully you don't have to port all the way to start) in order to check for chests, but the group leaves after the end, so it's not possible anyway (not to mention there's usually a bunch of skipped mobs which makes it even more of a pain). What I find extra weird is that players know the hair-pulling frustration that is farming leads, why wouldn't they give someone in the group a break and help them get a chest, it's like 30 extra seconds delay at the most... Anyway, OP if you can, I'd suggest running it solo with a companion, so you can search at your leisure, that's how I ended up getting my lead from there.

when i was getting my first copy of that lead, i went in with a group of friends, we killed only until we found 2 chests (or were more than halfway through the dungeon then we would finish it)

if we found the 2 chests before cernnunon (the skeletal colossus boss), we would just PTE and reset, if we had to go past that boss we finished the dungeon
