I'd go ahead and appeal. Keep an eye on the Dev Tracker for any Dev comments about it too.

When this has happened erroneously to large groups of people in the past, usually it's because ZOS' automated cheat detectors flagged something they shouldn't have. So Support is like "our systems say you cheated" while it takes time for them to go into the system and find out what went wrong and then unban the players who got caught improperly.

I have just received exactly the same email (at 18.57 BST) telling me that I am banned:

5.1 Users are forbidden from using any unapproved third party applications, programs, scripts or any other game modifying mechanic used to change the game play experience on a ZeniMax Game, Service, forum, or other games or services provided by ZeniMax, including the distribution of said programs via ZeniMax services, sites, forums, communities, etc. This would include but is not limited to using or distributing speed hacks, aim bots, mouse controllers, spam bots, automated game play devices, etc. Third party applications are defined as any program, application or script written by an individual, company, corporation, or private party not employed by or contracted to perform services by ZeniMax.

5.2 In relation to online/competitive games, users will not exploit any bug, or abuse any game system (such as the scoring or award systems) in a ZeniMax Game, Service, forum, or other games or services provided by ZeniMax. Users will not intentionally use or share any bug found within any ZeniMax Game, real or fictitious, regardless of whether or not it grants an unfair advantage. Report bugs and exploits using the in-game portal or via help.bethesda.net.

I just tried to log into the game thinking that it must be a mistake only to receive the message that "This account is permanently banned"!!!

I have never cheated and would never cheat. This situation is outrageous.

Good morning. I'm following the topic you mentioned. But their problem is under investigation, and mine is written without giving a reason.
I do not use 3rd Party software or Cheats. I am a large trade guild owner and need to manage a lot of goods and gold as part of running my trading guild. I am happy to provide any further information you require to prove my innocence.
But I can't even file an appeal on the site. Please let me know your current situation. I have not received a response to my email either.
