I found an amusing game to play in PVP

The game is simple, I take one of each quest in Cyrodiil and then go and specifically complete the scouting quest. Then, I take as many resources as I can before someone kills me. From there, I use the free teleport back to turn in my quest/s and start all over. This morning I only had a few minutes, and no one was coming to give me my free teleport back, so I started trying to take the keep that was on my quest. I got to within 14 hits of my trebucket of taking out the door, before someone finally showed up. Sure, I lost the trebucket, but I have a lot of them anyway and I got them all free, so I really don't care.
It was great.
And yes, I am easily amused.

Edit:
And yes, if I would have gotten the door down, I would have stormed the keep alone. The goal was to see how far I could get before I got killed.

After eight years I finally repaired enough walls to reach level 10 in the skill lines.

There's nothing more nerve racking that soloing a keep and hoping no one comes and at the same time, waiting for that 1 NB to ruin your day

I've done it Twice, BB and Nikel

Now I want to try to solo a keep.
In this case, I was trying to get killed, so I was laughing as I was respawning.

Trebuchets are a bit more for burst damage. You'll take down doors & walls fastest with 2 ballistas (not fire ballistas, just regular. The fire versions deal more damage to players other siege than structures)

    Edit: fixed siege info

I wasn't planning on trying to capture a keep. I was just planning on trying to capture resources until someone came to give me a free teleport back. I'll have to remember that for when I do try to capture a keep though.

I wrote a scouting report and then used metaball catapult on guards on flag at same place to cheese an endeavor. Had time to to repair and stow it before getting free return ticket to base from a helpful other alliance player.

Awesome! I'm happy to know I'm not the only one. :D

    Greetings,

After review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic (Alliance War & Imperial City, as this thread is in regards to Cyrodiil).

    Thank you for your understanding.

I'm not good enough to take a resource, so after writing my report, I just run into the middle and let the guards kill me for the free port back.

The other technique I use is to find a campaign where my faction is gated to take the scouting mission, and then find a campaign where my faction owns most of the map so I can port to a keep near the scouting target. I queue through Imperial City to switch campaigns. Then I turn in the quest in my home campaign.

Funny thing - I noticed Vlast wasn't linked and that all the resources at Brindle were red. So I went up there to take the resources back, when I noticed someone by themselves shooting a trebuchet at the keep door. So of course I had to take them out. XD

the method ive preferred taking a keep was 2 stone trebs and 1 ballista

then doing treb1->ballista->treb2->ballista until the door was down

ballista do 2000 dmg per shot, but because they reload faster you can only alternate 2 of them really efficiently

stone trebs do 4000 dmg per shot, and have a slower reload, so you could add a ballista shot between the 2 trebs

per cycle that is 10k dmg instead of 4k dmg (its a slower cycle but i think you might only be able to get 4 ballista fires per 1 full cycle of the 2 trebs + 1 ballista if you were doing 2 ballista method)

i have taken a keep solo before, it takes a long time lol, once you get through the outer door you need to kill guards on the inside (at least the ones that aggro to you) then repeat the same process on the inner door, then you have to kill the guards on the flags

if the map is slow, and i go to a keep and kill guards outside, i will 100% start firing on the keep and continue to do so until someone stops me or i capped the keep lol
    plays PC/NA

    active player since april 2014

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

@Tornaad, if you want a free teleport back to base, let the NPC guards kill you; you don't have to be killed by another player.

This reminds me of a couple of times during prior Mayhem events that lone enemy players attacked me while we were both doing PvE quests.

One time was in Weynon Priory while talking to Mael. I was turning in a quest and grabbing the next one at the same time as another DC player and an enemy player. We were all coexisting nicely for a few seconds but then the enemy player turns to me and attacks, so the other DC player and I killed the enemy player easily.

Another time was at the Wooden Hand Outlook where I was killing Gray Vipers for the Fighters Guild bounty quest. An enemy player ran up to me, attacked, and then stood there passively while I killed them.

I'm pretty sure the second player was looking for a free trip back to base. At the time I had thought that maybe the first player simply freaked out by coming out of their interaction with Mael and seeing 2 DC players in their face, but later I decided that they were also wanting a free blood port.
