Like okay, if you want to reward food and potions for this activity, the only way it'd be worthwhile, is if they were the crown store food and potions, or has ZOS not given up on trying to sell those to ignorant new players yet?
cause I mean those would be bound, so not sellable, and at least useful. I actually use those especially on characters running oakensoul ring doing solo content, and alts.
but trash white food and potions? It's just wasted inventory making me seek a merchant to sell them for 3 gold or whatever.

Oh. Just in case you have not noticed:
Upcoming U35 change (PTS 8.1.0 patch notes)
"Tribute Reward Bags no longer grant potions, poisons, Soul Gems, food or drinks."

LOL, I literally blew this game off and had no interest in playing, and ONLY started playing because of how good the rewards are. I mean, DRAGON MATS drop from the crates FFS! Plus gold crafting mats, transmutes, and motifs. Turns out, the game is really fun but I never would have started playing otherwise.

Plus, the game is legit fun. If I can get much needed dragon mats from there without having to go mindlessly kill dragon after dragon (probably for lower drop rate tbh) then all the better! Hell, you get good rewards for LOSING!

ToT is not meant as a way to farm collectibles for the rest of the game.

That said however, as a standalone game there is even less reason to play. The only lasting reward is the rubidite trophy, and that took me 2,5 hours to get.

I want something special, like a title for finishing top 2% each month.

As of now the game is not replayable enough to play just for fun and the rewards are not motivating enough.

The loot boxes tho, I see as great value and a really nice gift to open after a string of games. But if that's what you think the game is about, you are plain wrong.

I get dragon mats from the chest in the dragonguard keep every day, I need to do those quests on alts to access it more than once a day I guess though

but for me? ToT rewards are trash. White food, potency runes and common crafting mats, maybe green tempers, and white potions and posions and soul gems (either filled/unfilled), low tier provisioning recipes... the most valuable thing I've gotten is some mundane runes but.. I could get more of those in 10 min of gathering.

I think it'd help if the first few ranks went faster so you could play against NPC's that didn't just let you win by patrons (unless you use Hunding, which they flip every turn if they can) without any resistance over and over
cause I have 0 interest in any form of PVP, but Novice NPC's don't provide any entertainment after like.. the first 5 matches you do learning the game.
after that it's just grind grind grind and it isn't fun.
they're really trying to push for PVP.

I agree that the current rewards for this game mode aren't worth the time invested.

I expect them to get better in the next patch, if anyone tested it on PTS can they confirm what is the gold per hour?

Do you get card upgrades at each rank? cause I got one precisely after winning the match that got me rank 3.. meaning I have 2 upgraded cards, 1 from getting to rank 2, and 1 from getting to rank 3.

Which means, having grinded the ranks at 45 xp per match...
I've not gotten a single card clue in over 50 matches.

    Yes.

At least XP gain becomes faster after rank 4 because of how Proficient enemies work, allowing for much faster victories.

@Arato clues drop not that often.
We have a separate discussion about clues drop rate here on this subforum. Consensus is that drop rate is like 1:30 .. 1:40
I got 11 clues so far. First 8 (blue ones) dropped from green victory coffers, next 3 (purple ones) - from blue coffers.
I played approximately 400 matches, and got slightly more than 300 colored victory coffers (white "defeat" coffers had not dropped clues for me), so on overall it is 1:40, or if we disregard white coffers - 1:30, my numbers are quite close to the stats observed by other players.
Oh. and i got only 2 tapestries so far.

    that's terrible.
and that's something that should change, so you feel like you're somehow progressing at least rather than just recycling the same thing over and over when you're starting out. makes you get bored and not want to invest time in the activity when it feels like it's not doing anything.

@Arato, of course, this is off-topic, but in my understanding our respectable Developers took "grindier" approach at U26 -- Gerymoor
At that moment we got multi-part antiquities (dwarven wolf - 17 leads, Blackwood Tapestry - 15, now Druidic provisioning station - 10 leads)
At U26 we experienced 50 rarely dropped fragments for the Stone Husk dummy in Labyrinthian (earlier 7 fragments in Morrowind and Summerset, 10 in Elsweyr), now 50 became a new grinding standard: Blackwood Thrafey Debutante Gown - 50 fragments, Replica Zenithar Adytum Gate - also 50, High Isle - also 25+25 fragments for Coral Haj Mota Pet
Less new content - more time spent grinding.
Companions were not new (introduced with Blackwood) but High Isle unlocked two more Companions and time to progress them to level 20 is ridiculously demotivating. I doubt i will be running all these Fighters/Mages/Undaunted dailies each every day now with Isobel and Ember..
I'd prefer new exciting content, rather than repeating one and the same boring things over and over.
Clues drop rate is really low. Maybe Zenimax does not need impatient customers? I don't know.

well I guess that's one good thing about U35

Another good thing is that the tapestry fragments in Blackwood now have a glowy steam to them, making them easier to spot while you're running around the zone. Of course, that might not help players who found all of the fragments already through the use of some add-on or website that tells you exactly where each one is. But for players who don't use add-ons or websites like that, who prefer the joy of finding things on their own and who haven't found all of the tapestry fragments yet, this will be a welcome change. :)

As for the ToT rewards, I thought they were originally planned to be more awesome-- at least, that was the impression I got from the initial announcements and sneak peeks. But then some players complained loudly about not wanting to play ToT-- ever-- and insisted that the rewards must never include anything they might want to acquire in the way of gear, leads, etc., which presumably resulted in the planned rewards being nerfed. In my opinion, it should have remained the way it's always been-- that if you want a particular reward, then you must do the content which grants that reward, even if that content is, say, a card game (or a BG, or a vet dungeon, or a trial, etc.).

Personally, I'll continue to play ToT even if the rewards get totally removed, because I play it for the fun I have rather than for any rewards. Shoot, I solo world bosses for fun, whether or not I have a daily quest for them or they drop some coveted lead. But hopefully the changes to the ToT rewards will be improvements rather than just nerfs. For instance, I certainly don't need the soul gems, but new players might have looked forward to getting them.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!
