possible TOT fix

I like deck builder games. I own several such as Clank, 7 wonders, Dominion, etc. This game really misses the mark and that's a shame being it's one of your big selling points for this new chapter. Like other people have posted here I have my ideas for how to fix this. It will change this from a game of chance to a game of skill and could speed things up, so every game isn't so slow.

Players take simultaneous turns and get the opportunity to buy the same cards from the tavern. the turn time limit is set to 30 seconds, and you don't get see what your opponent did until on your next turn. you still have the option to signal the end of your turn early and when both players do this it starts the next turn. You don't get to see how much power they generated on their turn only prestige, agents, and leftover coin they have at the beginning of the next turn. give them a 3 second timer to begin the next turn and remove the leftover coin when the turn starts. the
game would be to 40 prestige still with whoever has the higher score winning. the tie breaker being who had more money from the last turn.

I forgot to mention that You only get those five cards, and each turn a new 5 are drawn. I'd also make it so only one combo 2, one combo 3, and one combo 4 are useable per turn.

Kind of like in the Civilization games. I dig this idea.

How would patron interaction work? Not a criticism, just curious if you've thought about it.

Interesting idea for sure. I like the current version, but this also seems like it could be fun. I wonder if at any point during development simultaneous turns were considered.

if for example someone uses the Hlaalu patron to sacrifice their agent and the other player used the Celarus patron to remove it then the patrons would cancel each other out. Otherwise I would make it so you can only use a patron until it favors you like the crow.

I had never played this type of card game before. I found it very complicated and confusing and almost gave up a gazillion times. Then after practicing on Proficient NPCs and jumping back into ranked games something finally clicked. Now I win more than I lose and every game I seem to get another "ah ha" moment.

I would be very upset if they changed the game that drastically after all the time and research I put into learning it.

Can't see what the OP is suggesting here to happen and my opinion that would make it MORE luck based. As you wont be able to tell what cards your opnt got so it will come down to luck that you guess correctly what they did that turn. So basically it would turn it into a luck/guessing game - far worse than what we have right now.

Also with both players taking their turns at the same time you would have the issue of both players being able to buy the exact same cards - thus duping them. That and the possible bugs from this would really mess this game up.

Btw grats on sticking with it and keep on learning, even the best players learn new things as they keep playing.
