I like the bear much better than any summon my sorc can conjure and absolutely love that it is an ultimate instead of requiring what I view as a more valuable 'normal' skill slot. I like the perks that come from slotting it as well as the companionship if the bear. I never ever use the 'special ability' so my ult is always at 500; that makes slotting the CP that gives you health regen based on your current ult a no brainer. In effect, a passive 2k boost to health regen = equals a pretty nice no effort heal over time.
Same here, it's my favourite, and recharges fairly quickly too. I use Volcanic Rune frequently to recharge the ultimate (and never get tired of seeing the mobs flying up into the air when I use it).Shooting Star. When soloing dungeons I can use it almost every trash pull.
Ice Comet.
I wish Companion’s Starfall “spammable” was not a copy/paste Meteor... sort of ruined the cool factor of this hard-hitting ability.

This made it unique and valuable, but sadly this function has been neglected for over four years now (AFAIK Asylum Sanctorium was the last trial where it could negate anything, and has been fairly useless from Cloudrest on).
I also liked Veil of Blades back when it gave 30% damage reduction to allies. This made it impactful enough to coordinate Veil rotations for some encounters. I don't think I've seen it used at all since it was reduced to 10% mitigation.
I can't really think of any impressive ultimates these days. Short clunky cast times sucked the fun out of several good ones. Others like DK Standard, Feral Guardian or Greater Storm Atro are powerful enough to be meta, but end up feeling more like mandatory visual clutter than something awesome to use.
Any idea how that knockback effect works? I've actually noticed the same myself sometimes: I try to cast the ultimate, then notice it's been drained but its effect never occurredphaneub17_ESO wrote: »The ones where I use them, get hit by a mob knockback effect, and consume all the ultimate energy without ever casting :P
