I see these players jumping up and down and they seem to die just as easily as any other player. Unless, they happen to be a player that I know is really good anyway. Then they are hard to kill . But does jumping have anything to do with it?

I am pretty sure if you are trying to rush into a keep and are jumping, it does nothing. You still get hit by meatbags, oil and cold fire if you are in the red circle. I don't think jumping avoids, eg Shalks or blastbones or any procs.

Has anyone actually tested what skills area affected by jumping?

Or is it entirely a matter of getting out of the target reticle?

Jumping causes players to lose line of sight. It also can help reduce damage from AoE attacks. The main use is to causes issues with line of sight. Similar to how dodge roll can do the same. The difference is jumping cost ZERO stamina and IMO that is an issue. If jumping consumed stamina if used more than 1x within 5 seconds you would see less players dancing to Kris Kross Jump song.

Not a good idea. You would realize how right away it would hurt tons of players who panic jump in combat, when people get bursted or dropped to near-death they tend to panic react and jumping costing stamina will punish players for panic reactions.
Imagine getting stamina checked by a dark convergence necro because you panic jumped out of their dark convergence pull and can no longer roll/run away from their ulti dump. Sure you wont see people jumping but it would punish people for panicking more which is absurd

I like it when they jump. Often I can't target them because of intervening players. Then they jump up in the air and I get a clean shot at them. Always neat to see them pop up, take a crushing shot, and drop dead.

Am I the only one who would like to see a double jump option that consumes Stamina?
GREAT idea yep i'm totally with ya!

imagine double-jumping *bonus* for like Wood-Elf ...or.... double-jumping over certain 'Keep' walls in Cyrodiil ( or maybe being able to finally after all these years do that super cool 'jump-front-flip' thing over opponents heads how certain NPC's have always used , /drool )

If a player does a panic jump it would be a one time use of a jump and not 2x or 3x etc... The stamina usage should be kept to a minimum on the 2nd jump but a third, forth or fifth should have escalating stamina cost making that is like dodge roll. The reason I state this is that other games that use stamina as a way to keep players from dodge rolling to much also use it as a way to keep players from jumping to much.

Ever tried to use a potion, and despite it being ready, you get the denial noise? You stop moving, you stop pressing other buttons, but still - potion will not fire.

Try jumping and using the potion in mid air - it's worked for me every time so far. Even in Cyrodiil prime time lag.

I made a post about this a while ago. Here's the summary.

Yes, it's an effective defense as it is target to land with single target damage skills. Thus it should cost a small amount of stamina.

It has no effect on defense and we just do it because we're bored, goofing off, etc, so don't change us stamina.

I'm in the former. It does make it harder to track of someone, even with a mouse (but especially with a controller). I'm not saying it should cost a buttload of stamina but it shouldn't be free. Just my take.
I drink and I stream things.
