I'm not sure on how many of you have noticed this, but upon entering Cyrodiil, if you are below level 50, you receive a "buff". This "buff" gives you a standard armor and spell resistance based off of your level. While this may at first sound like you are getting a boost to your armor and spell resistance, I assure you that many of you are not. In fact, most of you are actually losing spell resistance and armor. Let me show you.
I have done extensive testing before going into combat, and I see no point to even wear his armor in PvP! Here is some statistics that I have noticed:
In PvE: Spell resist: 924 , Armor: 875
In PvP: Spell resist: 892 , Armor: 735
In PvP: Spell resist: 892 , Armor: 735 With no armor equipped! All of it was removed from my character.
This was done on a Nightblade at level 39.
Key things I want to point out:
1. The buff we get does not buff anyone above the threshold for their level; it debuffs them.
2. Wearing armor actually does nothing. If you are (some how) below the buff threshold, you still have the total of the buff. If you are above, your stats are taken away from you, and given the exact value of the buff for your level. While you may gain increases to your recovery pools, it isn't worth breaking blue, purple, legendary gear for the tiny stats without the protection to keep you alive. Save your money, and wear junk gear.
3. Remember all the news we saw pre-release of the game, the ones about lower levels being buffed to still be competitive? This "buff" actually makes it easier for 50+ to put you 6ft deep. They don't even need a shovel anymore. Notice how my character lost 140 armor going into PvP? That's 16% of my total armor, gone. I was wearing full medium. Think about all the tank/heavy armor players out there, and the stats they will lose. Those advertisements are getting under my skin right now, because I wanted to play the entire game 10-max in PvP, guess who isn't doing that anymore.
4. Crafting for PvP below level 50 is worthless for PvP'ers. I spent days worth of play time already just crafting alone (yes, I'm an addict), and all the time/mats was wasted.
I have submitted this to the /feedback as requested when I contacted customer support, thinking that this was at first a major bug that needed fixed. I mean, if you saw your stats decrease when you gained a "buff", wouldn't you think it was a bug too?
My question I state to ESO is why won't you let me use the gear I have? I see no benefit to the world by lowering lower level players' gear. A friend of mine watched a lvl Veteran 6 take on approximately 15 people (the number may be a little over exaggerated, but even 1 on 5 would seem like that player was a god.) If someone at V6 is already able to do this, why can't I have all the stats I can for a level 39?
This needs to be fixed, or establish that PvP is End-game material (which is completely against everything you said before the game released).
I would love to here from other players on their feelings on this, or ways to improve this "buff" system. I get the feeling plenty of you strongly agree with me, and maybe if we all actually speak up, this matter might be changed/fixed.
