LOl not gona call anyone noob or anything but any aoe root stops mist dead in its tracks and immovable doesn't make you immune to root ether. So any DK with "tallons" or any sorc with "encase". These abilities don't require a target, also for those who don't have root skills all you need to do is catch up to mist and bash it to knock a vamp out of it (also doesn't require a target only that you face him and be in range).

No, dumb is while not knowing the limitations of an ability crying nerf! I am a vamp and i dont even have mist on my bars 90% of the time. You know why? Because vs mindless unskilled zerg its great but i don't need it to deal with them. And vs good players its a dumb death waiting to happen. Any bash will not just pull you out of it but also disorient, and almost everyone always spamming some kind of root making you end up stuck and surrounded and shortly dead (in mist form none of the skills or items are usable, you cant break out of cc or use potions or anything). Usually it goes something like this ohh sh**! I better bail! mist form! OMFG NERF TALLONS!!! Bash bash bash bash WTF!!! Hold block/Chug alchemy pot! Break root and mist form! OMFG nerf those tallons!!! Bash bash bash - dead!

Just saw this happen, and while mistform isn't always huge deal... He was also outrunning everyone's horses. -_-

Since you're not allowed to mount a horse, I guess the intention is to prevent the scroll moving too fast?

I was also smarting off, so there is a correlation there. I made the same mistake Free.Block did a week ago. I'm sure there are supposed to be counters for this, I just don't have any faith that they're working as intended right now.

I don't think this is an exploit. It's fully possible to attack a Vampire in Mist even if their name does not show at the top of the screen when aiming at them.

I do however think that scroll carriers should not be able to use any skills while carrying the scroll, simply because it would make escort groups more interesting and meaningful.

I dont use the standard UI so i dont know but with the UI addon I have I can still target vamps in mistform and can hit them with CC's or even better silverbolts. I myself have been killed in mistform plenty. Its really not that complicated

This, tbh. I'm a sorc and frankly Bolt Escape means I'm completely uncatchable with a scroll - I outrun horses unless they have 40% speed boosts, I regen mana fast enough to go port-port-port-port-port-sprint for 30 seconds-port-port-port-port... I don't think the abilities themselves are problematic, but they do make scroll chasers too hard to pin down. The 75% speed boost morph for mist form is similarly too much; either let everyone mount when they carry a scroll, or don't let certain classes and skill lines use abilities which are faster than horses.

The entire point of multiplayer games with a pvp component is to fight against each other with the broken build you need to develop to beat "impossible" pve encounters.

If pve and pvp have different skill sets, I lose my character identity.

Proof of how messed up this is....last night on AB AD took a scroll with a vamp carrier and were so not worried about anyone actually being able to kill him or catch him he ran all over the map with it like the Family Circus kid and held it so long it actually reset and snapped back to the temple. He wasn't killed. there was no he dropped it message. It simple reset to the temple so apparently there is a cap timer. Not sure how long it was though. Major population imbalance at the time so they just went and got it again, did the Family Circus thing again playing a bit, then finally capped it the 2nd time.

DK roots... you can chain root for ever and ever any mist forming Vampire. Have any DK run up to the Vampire and Root him. Then have a sorcerer cast negate magic immediately so that the Vamp can't cast Bat Swarm. Enjoy the ***.

I've been using Dark Talons on vamps for weeks now... it's funny trying to see them run away when they can't.

Though do agree vamp needs seeing to with this ability with the scroll. Also mist form shouldnt take away the enemy symbol. You're already untargetable and take 75% less damage don't need to be pretty much invisible also.

@Pryda - I've noticed being rooted with Maneuver on so think it's kinda bugged here and there sometimes.

The untargetable mist form thing is a problem, tbh, it need to be addressed. If you have 75% damage reduction, then you should be targetable as normal.

So target them as normal and attack them as normal.
The only issue I have found relative to targeting Mist Form vampires is that they can't be tab-locked while transformed; they can still be targeted and attacked.
If you tab-lock them between transformations the lock will not break when they transform either.

It is worse then that Mist form + retreating maneuver = immune to all CC. SO that root idea.. ya it does not do ***. Oh and yes you do move at something like 70% speed boost with it

I heard that Puncturing strikes can break them out of mist form but I have not tested it myself, chances of landing that on one running with scroll though? 0.0001?

Yeah, I know; I specced vamp hunter and I'm having a wonderful time atm with all the vamptards in PvP (it's like everyone has half my health

). But tbh, you shouldn't have to. The fact that you can target them in mist form, but only if you already had them locked just smells downright buggy. Either it should break target locks when activated, or it should allow you to target as normal regardless (almost certainly the latter, since the 75% damage reduction strongly implies this was the devs intention). The current way it works is self-contradictory, and that's an issue which should be sorted out.

I've been hit for 41k in Mistform. Not sure if it was Silver Bolts or what but there are ways.

I do agree though Mistform and Bolt Escape should not be allowed to capture scrolls with. Shouldn't be easy to take them and should require coordinated effort.

Silver bolts in mist form hit for like 200-300 on a 5% proc.. its a joke. I have no idea how you got hit for 41k

Now that I think about it.. maybe it was Backclash? Maybe it stores full damage and then unloads the who thing and ignores mist form? Or maybe really good templar used it then counted to 6, then got you with puncturing dropping your mist and then backlash gibbed you

41,000 damage even after the 75% reduction? Is that a typo? You would have to be hit for 160,000 damage to score that hit. There is no way there is a working as intended skill that hits for 160,000 damage.

You don't need to be locked on in order to target and attack someone in Mist Form though.
The tab box really just makes an individual target more visible to follow; aiming at their general hitbox even without a lock is still sufficient to actually attack.

Trust me it has happens multiple times. 41,000 dmg. It is crazy. I have no idea what is doing it I have assumed it was Silver Bolts. BTW this doesn't happen a lot but maybe 5-10% of the time which is also why I think it is SB.

I also bug and cannot be rezzed when I die in Mistform.
