How long should a single mythic item lead take to farm/find? What do you believe is a reasonable amount of time to expect a player to spend to find a single lead?

Already regretting looking at the spread of votes with most of you so far under 2 hours..... I'm at 30 and counting

The question is how long it should as opposed to how long it does.

I would surmise that a good portion of those like myself who voted for a reasonable amount of time have already gone through the wringer a few times.

Thats a good point, and highlights how tired I am from trying to get this lead I can't even read anymore

I thought it was normal for them to take 48+ hours to drop. Normally by the time I get all the pieces, the item has already been nerfed.

I don't enjoy farming leads, so mostly the ones I have are coincidental drops from playing. The last mythic I actually farmed was ring of the pale last year given how useful it is, and then nothing until yesterday when I realised I already had the dungeon leads for pearls mythic so I made short work of the rest.

I think finding a mythical item should be an adventure in and of itself, like taking the ring to mordor or opening the gate of kerash. So 48+ makes sense.

Placing a lead in water plants and lowering the rng to 0.000000000001% does not an adventure make.

The only thing I spend two hours doing without some sort of break to do something else is...work. Work is the thing we do for hours on end. Play is supposed to be the thing we do to have fun. Grinding is not fun. It is the opposite of fun. It is the fun-killer.

Really enjoyed the Antiquities addition. Resolutely detest the Mythic grind. I have three Mythic items and I shall have no more; I don't give a greasy rat's butt how wonderful they are. Besides, after ALL the hours spent getting the shiny, ZOS will nerf the living sheisa out of it. I think of the weeks (literally weeks) getting all the leads for the Pale Order Ring and now it's been rendered near useless.

I think it depends on what activity is required. Are we talking about playing the game, or babysitting a node in Shadowfen?

Theres no amount of time that I will find camping a node fun, adventurous, engaging or entertaining.

    That I can agree on.

Not on the time it takes per se but on the effort.

If it is a challenging journey that requires time, dedication and gasp teamwork to achieve excellent. Bring it on.

If I am to kneel on a node or kill the same menial type of mob over and over again for a chance to pull the arm of the metaphorical slot machine anything beyond 2 hours per lead your are showing utter contempt for my time.

They need to stop tying mythic leads to boring content. It won't change the current mythic but future ones they can do better.

New trial too hard, mythic item too long to get, companions can't tank a world boss or dps like I can. Anything else we can complain about?

We need more difficult content, I don't understand why people are complaining...

I have only been around for a few months but have farmed a few mythics. Based on my experience I do not think the poll is set up appropriately. I see a huge difference between a lead that requires clearing an entire DLC dungeon or killing WBs vs farming herbs or some fishing. It takes seconds to harvest an herb and significantly longer to clear that DLC dungeon. The main reason farming water herbs for the new kilt is such a pain is everyone is doing the same thing making it harder to find them. That should not change the odds. Yes, I have my kilt.

    This and...

I would like to see a more lore-based system for mythic leads. Right now there are lore connections from the name, but I'm thinking something like when the lead drops, a ghost pops up and plays a little scene then gives you the lead. You'd follow the journey of someone in, for example, the Pale Order (or equivalent) as you journey around Tamriel collecting leads. Finding one could even hind at where to go for the next perhaps.

As for drops and drop rates, I think that adding in actual quests for mythics would be too much to ask from the devs, but perhaps to help the useless grind, they could be added a random reward for zone quests in the relevant zones. So for instance, you could still find the glass beads from a water node, but it would also have a chance, even higher one, of dropping from quests in shadowfen. Meanwhile leads connected to dungeons could drop from that dungeon quest or pledge. The resulting drop rates would be slightly higher, but still low enough that they are worthy of being called "mythic" items.

I personally voted for 1-2 hours per lead, resulting in ~10 hours per item, remembering that game companies like to advertise "hours of playtime" in new content. This system would be 10 hours of re-vamped old content per mythic, and a more varied and enjoyable experience than sitting on nodes or farming the same mobs over and over.

    I don't mind a grind where there's a clear finish line.
A grind dependant on RNG, though?
    That's where annoyance comes in.
Fighting other players for nodes on top of RNG?
Someone should seriously be fired for that ...😐

I don't necessarily mind longer grind times for more engaging leads. Through all of the mythic items, I think the dungeon drop ones have taken the longest. At least the others don't require moving through a dungeon to the end repeatedly.

I've lucked out so far and only took 3 or 4 runs max for each of the dungeon related leads. And then I started on the Dragonstar lead and I've soloed nDSA 3 times over the last few days so far and no drop yet. At least I am finally filling out the sticker book for the DSA weapons though, so even though it is taking some time to do it is engaging.
