I use Lost Treasure, which covers treasure maps as well as surveys.

Combine Destinations (add on) with Lost Treasure (add on) and you should be able to find Surveys and Treasure chest.

    Destinations creates pin on map.

Another vote for Lost Treasure, with or without Destinations.

how is having an addon to show an x on the map any different to the survey itself which shows on x on the map? how bad can some people be at finding surveys. hell you just get close and you can see the nodes.

Lets see memorize the location as the map is intentionally vague to exact location or a x on the map which speeds up the process i take quality of life and speed over having no x on the main map...

I kinda understand why people are looking for something on top of what the base game provides. Think in-character -- you have a map of the zone you explored, and find a vague survey map. What would you do? I would put the two maps side by side, try to match signature features and then mark the survey location on the detailed, explored map. So I want put a temporary waypoint on my map, but the UI switching between map and survey via inventory/quickslot is so awkward I curse every time

Thank you for this. It cut down my time so much and removed the frustration.

Once I tried Map Pins, I was able to dump separate addons for bosses and skyshards and gained markers for mage guild lore books, treasure maps, survey locations and all very flexible in terms of what you show and what you don't. :)
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo
