A. Recipes @Jessabella Mara's Tester ✭✭✭ How she makes money cooking as she quest and handles space.
I only collect stuff as I am questing, Since I can make 6 items from 1 ingredient, I find provisioning a good source of income. The Bank in Daggerfall, also is an excellent recipe and ingredient source. I am only lvl 31 so perhaps there is a better one, but out of every city so far I like that bank best since it has a fire in it.
There are cooking fires every where, they are way more common then crafting tables, so if I get full I can quickly empty out. You only need 1 free space to cook, unlike extracting, where you need 4, so its easier to deal with limited bag space. Also, I tend to look through the ones I can make and do the ones that will use up full ingredient stacks. clearing more bag space.
At first I was not able to do other crafts at all because of space issues, but since a stack of 100 of even the lowbie ones sell for 500, and it increases with lvl, I was able to use cooking to upgrade to 113 bag spaces and 70 bank. With so many crates, barrels, sacks, etc, finding stuff is easy and faster then searching for nodes to harvest and then NPC, it's also instant, no waiting like harvesting.
I do not store any ingredients in my bank, just my bag so I can instantly use them at a fire, instead of auto pulling them from the bank when ever I see a fire and ending up with a full bag and 40 free bank slots back in town! I quickly learned how incredibly frustrating that was. ...........

[Guide] Managing and upgrading inventory space with provisioning
Jessabella Mara's Tester ✭✭✭
February 25 edited February 25 in Tips & Tricks
I'm not much of a guide writer, this is my first, but it's just some tricks I picked up on dealing with limited bag/bank space, the cost of upgrades and provisioning. Most of this is copy and pasted from another post I made but some PMs I got from others has convinced me to turn it into it's own "guide". This is just my own play-style really and whats works for me!
Provisioning is fairly easy to lvl, I was 50 in it before my character could even swap weapons. But it uses a lot of ingredients and recipes. The ingredients tend to fill you up fast and have little or no sell value without cooking.
I only collect stuff as I am questing, I never farm ingredients or go out of my way to collect them, the way I might if I am running along and pass a rune node.
The Bank in Daggerfall, (Glenumbra) also is an excellent recipe and ingredient source. It has a lot of drawers where I often find recipes as well as crates and barrels and a cooking fire right inside. It makes managing inventory a lot faster.
There are cooking fires every where, as well as merchants to sell your finished items too, they are way more common then crafting tables, so if I get full I can quickly empty out. You only need 1 free space to cook, unlike extracting, where you need 4, so its easier to deal with limited bag space.
Also, I tend to look through the ones I can make and do the ones that will use up full ingredient stacks. clearing more bag space. For example if I can make 4 Horker Stews and that will use up all my Horker Meat, I will do that before cooking 7 Beef pastries and having 15 beef left over. Remember Cooking does need a spot, even if you have the finished food item in your bag already so by using the full stack of Horker Meat first I made a space for another cooked item.
At first I was not able to do other crafts at all because of space issues, but since I can make 6 items from 1 ingredient, a skill you can unlock, I find provisioning a good source of income. Since a stack of 100 of even the lowbie ones sell for 500, and it increases with lvl, I was able to use cooking to upgrade to 100 bag spaces and 70 bank. With so many crates, barrels, sacks, etc, finding stuff is easy and faster then searching for nodes to harvest and then vendor to an NPC, it's also instant, no waiting like harvesting.
I do not store any ingredients in my bank, just my bag so I can instantly use them at a fire, instead of auto pulling them from the bank when ever I see a fire and ending up with a full bag and 40 free bank slots back in town! I quickly learned how incredibly frustrating that was, especially when you find yourself destroying items or passing up loot in a dungeon only to port to town and see an almost empty bank that was recently full.
As far as other crafts, I use my bank to only keep weapons, gears and non- cooking ingredients since the possibility of running into a crafting table mid dungeon is far lower then running into a cook fire mid dungeon, and those are common.
One last thing, I also have someone in game who does not focus at all on provisioning, instead they focus on a craft that has no benefit to my char, so I send them all the materials I find that they can use and they send me any ingredients they find. Not only does that help me make money, but it's also like a 10 minute warning to me. When I get full I will send them a message (usually 3) attaching all the stuff I have for them, that makes 18 more spots for me before I need to find a bank/vendor/crafting table, and when they mail ingredients to me, I leave them attached to the mail until I am at a fire and can use them right away instead of taking up space.

from moowii ;
food and drink spreadsheet (multi-tabbed) of what I have so far. It's organized by food name, item level, recipe improvement, recipe quality, recipe type, and ingredients. This includes how to download and Sort it yourway!!
melifoonub18_ESO ✭
I took moowii's great spreadsheet and tweaked it. I cross-referenced with a couple of other online lists (including Tamriel Foundry), and based on the patterns seen, I put in rows for quality 1, 2, and 3 recipes for all items. So far, that means it includes 28 x 3 recipes for each of the 3 food types (252 total), and 29 x 3 recipes for each of the 3 drink types (261 total). Assuming the patterns hold true.
If it seems useful to other folks, let me know if there's anything else it should include. Also, I think you should be able to save a copy to your own Google docs folder if you want to use it to track what you know. Not sure about downloading it if you don't have a Google account? Maybe someone else knows.

Potion Creation Notes JSylvan Dibella's Tester
. Reagents must share at least one Alchemy Trait or the attempt will fail and you will lose all components
. With a successful Potion creation, you will learn all common Alchemy Traits between the Reagents used
. Potion's effects will be the shared Traits between Reagents
. If Reagents share two Alchemy Traits, the Potion will have two effects
. Alchemists will have to pay attention to the properties of the plants they create in order to make the best potions.

Alchemy is able to create several concoctions that are not found in the game world, including multi-effect potions.
Poisons were not available in the November beta, and may not be present in this beta, so rest assured that if you create a potion that melts your insides rather than those of the enemy, don’t worry, that’s normal.
To make a potion, you need at least two ingredients and a solvent. The ingredients you combine determine the effect of the potion, as well as grant you experience points towards alchemy.
Every ingredient has 4 'traits' which start off unknown, but you may eat an ingredient to discover the first trait, and conduct experiments to unlock the rest.
When you mix two ingredients with the same trait, you receive a potion with that effect - for instance, Water Hyacinth and Wormwood both have "Weapon Crit" as a potential effect, so if you mix the two, you will receive a mixture that boosts your critical strike rating a significant amount (by 601, according to the tooltip).
The solvent is the liquid that you are mixing the potions in , and for now, that solvent is just various kinds of water that you find in the world.
The solvent you use determines the level of the potion; a health potion made with the lowest level water will make a level 3 potion, whereas the next grade up will make a potion suitable for a level 10 character.
There are also ‘anti-traits’ which will prevent you from making certain potion types. For instance, Namira’s Rot+Wormwood+Water Hyacinth would normally make a potion that improves all forms of critical strike as well as adding ‘Unstoppable,’ but because Water Hyacinth features ‘Stun,’ the potion will not be capable of Unstoppable, even though Wormwood and Namira’s Rot both have the trait for it.
The most important talent of them all will have to be the triple ingredient talent, Laboratory Use, allowing you to mix 3 ingredients at once. This unlocks an incredible assortment of potential potions, as any third ingredient you use will add a number of effects based on how well it matches against the other two. This is what is going to make alchemist’s potions far superior than anything that can possibly be found while questing. Do note the experience earned does not increase with a third ingredient added; it is purely for making better potions.

-Invisibility (invisible for X seconds)
-Speed (increases running speed 30% for X seconds)
1. Bugloss/Columbine creates a mixture that restores both health and magicka without the need for a third ingredient.
Mountain Flower as a third ingredient will allow it to also restore stamina, creating a restore health+stamina+magicka potion with no negative secondary effects.
All three ingredients are common, making it an incredibly useful potion that trumps standard single-effect restore potions.
2. Namira’s Rot is a mushroom that features both speed and invisibility.
It can be combined with
Blue Entoloma for invisibility or
Blessed Thistle for speed.
Mixing
Namira’s rot, Blue Entoloma, and Blessed Thistle = invisible and fast.
Nirnroot is also an acceptable replacement for Blue Entoloma, but unfortunately combines negatively with Blessed Thistle to hurt your health.
3. Emetic Russula is a mean ingredient with ravage traits for all 3 resources, plus stun. It can easily be combined with;
Stinkhorn OR Violet Coprinus = drain either health and stamina, or health and magicka.
Stinkhorn+Dragonthorn = drain health+stamina+armor,
Stinkhorn AND Violet Coprinus = drain health+stamina+magicka (though there are varieties of ways to achieve this same effect)
Stinkhorn OR Violet Coprinus after adding Water Hyacinth to add a stun in addition to draining health+stamina or health+magicka.
If poisons do end up being implemented, this is going to be nasty.
4. Lady's Smock and Cornflower Restores magicka and also boosting spell power.
This seems to be one of a couple potions that is fairly powerful with only two ingredients. That being said, it still has potential to be improved, and adding
Water Hyacinth will tack on spell crit to the mix to add a little oomph to the next cast or two.
Alternatively,
Wormwood can be substituted for detection instead of spell crit;
I don't know how strong detection will be, but it's possible that if some jerk is using potion #2 up there to get away, you'll be able to nab him.
5. Dragonthorn and Blessed Thistle share Weapon Power, as well as stamina regen. Throw in a
Water Hyacinth, and you’ll also tack on Weapon Crit to the mix for an offensive potion.
6. Columbine, Mountain Flower, and Imp Stool would raise armor while restoring health and stamina.
At least, it would if Imp Stool didn’t have “Ravage Stamina” tacked on to it. It still restores health and boosts armor, making a nice tanking mix.
II. Enchanter: Find runestones
throughout the world combining them together to form enchantments for armor, weapons and jewelry.
. Runestones have a magical language associated with them that enchanters will decipher as they make enchantments.
. Enchantments can be added to armor and weapons increasing their efficacy, while working in tandem with the traits added by blacksmiths, clothiers and woodworkers.

Note:
1. The following three crafters all are able to create items with traits that make them ‘better’ in different aspects.
2. They will also be able to sell items which can improve the quality of any weapon or armor.
3. With enough dedication, they can learn to add any trait and eventually visit special forges that allow them to imbue armor and weapons with ‘set’ bonuses unique to crafting.
4. Racial Styles used to create gear , you find in Lore books that are scattered throughout the world. They can look like a shiny book on the ground or a table , or in a crate or urn etc.
5. Find Skill books in books shelves, to level crafting professions, your class, armor types, and your weapons.
6. Researched Trait from the Research tab. Researching destroys the gear and weapons researched. Research takes 6 real time hours x each research....6,12,18,24...
7. Item improvements destroy the item if failed. Increase chance of success by selecting units of Tempers, Tannins or Resins.
8. Tempers, Tannins or Resins may be gotten from an extraction. As well as Raw, Style and/or Trait materials.
9. Raw material refinement refines materials for crafting. Example 'raw iron to iron ingot.
10. Weapon Traits (material required) . Powered (Chysolite) - Reduces cooldown of weapon enchantments

Thanks to Myrron Namira's Tester
1. Most iron nodes I have encountered yield 3-4 ore. You need a minimum of 10 ore to do anything at all.
2. Extract; You need 10 iron ore to create ingots. The amount of ingots seems to vary per extraction, I got 6 ingots one time, and 8 another time. Ultimately 5 extractions (meaning 50 ore) yielded 44 ingots. It is possible to acquire some additional items while extracting, such as racial stones.
3. heavy armor in the world, it can also be "extracted" to yield ingots.
4. Confirmed by ZOS posters. Apparently only making finished products (weapons, armor) will give you blacksmithing XP.
5. In order to make iron weapons and armor, you need varying amounts of ingots and your race's stone (1 stone per item). Typically there is a smithing vendor nearby. As a Breton, I needed to buy several Molybdenums for my first round of smithing, and I think they were 21g each.
6. You will noticed a plus and minus icon next to the amount of ingots required for an item. If you add more ingots, you increase the level of the item, thus increasing its attack power or defense. There is a cap at how many ingots you can cram into an item, so you can't go and make a level 200 sword (though you can't equip a level 200 sword, anyway). If you plan on wearing the weapon/armor you just made, I'd suggest putting enough ingots in so that it is as strong as possible for your current level.
7. Finished products (weapons/armor) give xp. It seems to be level-based. I made a level 1 dagger (2 iron ingots) and it gave me 68 xp, and I made a level 1 iron cuirass (5 ingots I think) and it also gave me 68 xp. I then made a level 6 iron cuirass and it gave me something like 130-ish xp. So it's not the amount of ingots you use, but the item's level, that influences how much xp you get per piece. Without further testing, if I am right, probably the fastest way to level up blacksmithing would be to choose an item that uses very little iron ingots (like the dagger) and make the highest possible level of it over and over (so a level 10 iron dagger).
8. When you extract an item you made, you get next to nothing back materials-wise.
9. You need to find books to produce other race gear. You start out with your own. The books are hard to find.
10. If you want to enchant gear, you will also probably want to put points into the perk that opens research to two enchants at once, and cuts down on researching time.
11. Researching takes an item with a trait already on it, destroys the item, and teaches you the trait. It is slot-specific, meaning if you destroy a helmet in order to learn an trait , you can only supplement future helmets with that specific trait. The first trait for any slot takes 6 hours to acquire. A second trait for the same slot takes 12 hours to learn. I do not know if the time continues to increase beyond 12 hours for 3+ traits, though I have heard some people say it is a continuous "+6" hours per trait. Tested research:
research 1 = 6
research 2 = 12
research 3 = 24
research 4 = 48....ouch
