If i had to guess, i'd say xp gains in PvP are tuned to huge keeps sieges where people are dying like flies en masse. If you had decent xp for a single kill, you would gain several levels in such a massive fight.
And honestly, i do not mind slow xp gains, i am in no hurry to get to level 50. I started playing on day 1 of 5-day early access and my highest character is level 8

I would not think any activity geared toward players at the level cap would give much XP but instead focus on material rewards. Since PvP rewards give lots of items (all of which are level appropriate) I would say it's a far trade.

Not to sound rude, but is this a joke? The current rewards are one of the most complained about topics right now, and for good reason. The best reward you get is a few green items in the mail. The PvP gear you can purchase, which cost an arm and a leg, are mediocre in comparison to the stuff I can already craft for myself. No, for the majority of players, these rewards only serve to be decontructed or sold to a vendor for a pittance of gold.

Oooops! Not rude at all. I did write it on 4th april. I mean. For a newbie, the rewards were very good. Thank you for the post. I agree. The rewards, now that I have more experience with the game (I only did one beta weekend) are terrible. You have no motivation to do pvp, unless you are VR10 and bored. Then again, I fully agree. We can craft better stuff.
They need to rethink some stuff about pvp
PS. Now I understand what I did got a "LOL"

My guild leader, leveled in cyrodiil to VR1 in about 70 hours DURING BETA.
The same guy, has been doing nothing but cyrodiil for 3 weeks, is level 45. and he plays for hours

My only concern is that if they offered that much exp in PvP, no one would play the story content, they'd PvP to 50 and quit from boredom. I think PvP was meant to be a supplement to the game rather than the game itself. Just an opinion though, I've spent no time in cirodil so I'm not really qualified to discuss it
Oh... noIt got nerfed hard because people were complaining about too much XP during the weekend betas ...
Are you kidding?Lazarus_Long wrote: »Since PvP rewards give lots of items (all of which are level appropriate) I would say it's a far trade.

THE EXP FROM CAPTURING TOWERS AND RESOURCES IN PVP IS RIDICULOUSLY LOW, THE EXP REVOLVES AROUND KILLING PLAYERS, BUT ITS ALSO SETUP TO GET BETTER EXP IN SMALLER GROUPS AND SOLO KILLING, THE SHARED EXP GAIN IS VERY LOW.
Which is another example of grouping in ESO which failed.

This tries to explain it, but hasn't been updated since the day before launch.
The kill quest nerf, kills the "questing" explanation for gaining exp.
The exploring has never given good exp unless u have a suit of gear that enhances it, and still it's not viable.
It also says that it all depends on the "enemy population" so towers and resource exp rewards aren't even considered a viable tactical method of PVP so exp rewards are low.

Why would someone NOT doing the pve concern you?? If there was a viable alternative for leveling, via PvP, the ones that wanted to lvl in pvp would do so. And the ones that wanted to level PvE and enjoy the "storyline" would do that. And it's not like leveling in pvp precludes you from doing the storyline later, at your leisure.
So how did they level if not in PvE and with XP in Cyrodil being so low?Ramanadjinn wrote: »
A large part of us are already skipping the PVE content in favor of grinding only to go back and do it later anyways. If I want to spend most of my time PVPing it makes sense to get to 50 ASAP.
I know very few pvp enthusiasts who actually did the quests to get to 50.
