I hope what I'm about to say means something, but I spent a long time in their alone but once I finally got people to group with me and we had a large group going I got the lead within 30 minutes and then another person got it right after I did and another person got it while we were talking about that. So could grouping help?

    it's all RNG
Got all the leads the first day within 20mins of each other than my friends all got theirs several hours apart RIP

I have no idea how long it took me. I tried for it maybe an hour first day. 2nd day I tried for a few hours. Day three through five I got mad and stubborn and stayed in the dungeon for several hours.

From what I can tell I actually got the lead sometime the 2nd day and didn't realize it. A lot of Shalk died for no reason as it turns out. Well I guess all the mats add to my stockpile.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Been sending Spiny Tim in there for about an hour a day now. Very early in the morning. Only chance to hit anything.

Have got a few of the trove furnishings from the chests in the dungeons but no ring lead yet.

In a location of such small size with so few killables it may be better to increase the drop rate and have it also drop from bosses and/or the chests in there.

This is simply not enjoyable or a good use of time as it is.

Yeah, I agree. It was a mistake to put two popular lead locations there. The dungeon simply isn't big enough to support that kind of traffic.

    Sometimes, RNG can be kind.
I went in there for the first time and just hanged out near the entrance and keep on killing the 3 mobs + 2 shalks there for like 30 minutes and no Leads dropped. Went to bed and came in this morning. Within less than 20 minutes, I get the Pale Ring lead from the same 3 mobs at the entrance, then decided that I might as well clear this dungeon and get the Skyshard, and the final mini boss I dealt with, the giant snake, drop the Wild Hunt ring lead!

I can imagine the frustration of camping here for hours. Ugh! Not fun.

I feel sorry for those that have to grind for hours, I did the dungeon like normal, went to the spot and picked it up first time ( this was when it was on a timer for everyone )

This lead was terrible for me in the beginning. It took 5 days. The first 2 days I spent hours in there with multiple toons. On day 3 I took a different approach. Equipped 3 aoes, ran 30m down the right hand tunnel (much less traffic) and stood just before the three way junction.

From there you can see the skeever that spawns in the left hand fork, the mob that spawns in the junction and a mob that forms behind you towards the tunnel entrance. Lastly there is a small mob that spawns to the right of the tunnel entrance, in the entry cavern.

Preferably while eating brekkies, doing a crossword, reading the news etc, alternate throwing an aoe at the two spawn points closest to you. Keep an eye on the left hand fork as you can see the skeever (it eventually dropped the lead for me) but it is out of range. The aoe's are enough to tag the enemies without wiping them out immediately so others can have a shot too. If all three mobs happen to be down at the same time, trot up to the mouth of the tunnel, the group to the left is often standing there ignored.

Because you tag them as soon as they spawn, the Rambo melt on sight heroes are not a problem. Most important, don't spend more than half an hour at a time trying. It will ruin your enjoyment of the game and rng doesn't care how hard you try. Good luck.

Yeah, I agree.. take a break if it's too long. If it becomes a grind, then the game is not fun anymore.

My scrying and excavation is at level 5. I have to level up 2 more to scry these leads. Thank goodness the lead expires 30 days.

And Tim finally got the lead this morning.

Never, ever going in there again!

Well perhaps if there were a beautiful pile of yarn balls furnishing or something then it might be worth it ...

it is all just RNG... the first ring I made, I was quite lucky, as all leads dropped kind of fast. On the second ring though, dead man hollow seemed a bit reluctant to drop the lead. Spent 2 hours on one char without any success, next day on another char (with wild hunt this time) it dropped after an hour. I guess sometimes you got to give the RNG a chance to reset ... ;)

So, do you guys break up your monster set for this ring? I think it’s very useful for solo PvE, or maybe even solo Arena (that’s a thought!) but I wonder if it’s worth breaking up my Selene for it. If I do back bar Endless Hail, is each tick consider an attack and thus heal you for 18% of each tick?

Luckily I never have to farm it again. I can just reconstruct it out of my sticker book

Haha... that is certainly the more clever way of obtaining additional rings :) But for the second one, I already had a few leads anyway from normal playing, so I thought it wouldn't be too much hassle to go the whole way again. Wouldn't do it a third time though :)

I don't think whomever thought of the lead criteria has ever played the game.

If you believe in urban legends or folklore, @merevie, the following has helped me farm leads:

    1. Make sure to scry and dig a mythic lead before trying to farm another lead of the same mythic item. (For example, if you find the Nilumin River Pearls lead for Pearls of Ehlnofey, dig it up before farming another Ehlnofey lead.)
    2. Never carry any mythic items in character inventory when farming mythic leads. Make sure they're in the bank, housing storage, or safely somewhere else.
    3. As you mentioned, farm each lead on a different character. I used five (5) different characters for both Ring of the Pale Order and Pearls of Ehlnofey.
    4. Do the "harder" leads first (such as the mythic leads tied to group dungeon bosses). Doing those first shortens the timeline on the back end and provides a better picture of the finish line.

    :)

I got it both ring leads from bosses. Not sure if just drops less on them, or if people are just avoiding them cause they don't think the bosses will drop a lead, but I (at least) can testify that the bosses do drop the leads.

    I don't understand your reply, @SaucyMcSauceface.

Isn't there only one (1) ring lead in Bad Man's Hallows?

Pale order ring lead from adds and wild hunt ring lead from bosses at the same place.

Hope you all get your leads, it was torture when I did it.
