Before i say anything do not imply i want to or plan on Doing the following myself, but i am indeed a bit curious.

Coming from eve online, the social interactions are highly encouraged, negative ones as well as positive ones (without racism, harrassment etc) this includes scamming. If u trick someone on eve into giving u something by accident, that is fine, its almost encouraged. they want those social interactions. some frown on it some accept it. but eve is a bit special and different to most mmo's, so im curious would acting in a similiar way on eso land u suspensions and bans etc? thoughts?

In reference to people buying/selling vamp/were bites, I have heard that you're on your own if you fall for a trade scam, since there is no exploiting of the game mechanics involved. It would be nice to have clarification, but I'm starting to think there will never be official responses to anything on the forums.

EVE is also PvP so that if you catch the swindler you can gank him in low sec space. I know a few players who cheated the wrong person and now have entire corporations hunting them.

When push comes to shove, EvE style scamming is fraud. CCP allows and at least implicitly endorses such in-game fraud. Zenimax doesn't seem to have made a decision about such fraud but they need to be careful not to wait too long because that which is not disallowed is assumed to be allowed.

IANAL but this post sure makes it seem like I play one on the internet, sheesh.

One of the devs said that they will investigate fraudulent transactions and deal with it accordingly. If someone does that to you, just report them and see what happens.

I've heard that scams (aka fraud) are indeed bannable, but need to be investigated. But since I don't have a citation myself, it's basically player word.
