They started this bull with not giving event dates in showcase with Murkmire event I think. Just to keep things more mysterious I guess.

Western Skyrim overland is lagging and having Cyrodiil skill delay on a Wednesday morning. My bet is on MM getting cancelled.

I probably not gona participate in it anyway (I have a lot of AP and nothing to spend them on), but I will just do the absolute minimum to get daily event tickets. Problem will occur if we will have infinite "maintenance screen" (because server will crash or something) so we could miss some event tickets.

No point in ZOS muddying the waters further and announcing something that might not happen way in advance.

They seem to be quite sensibly focused on console launch, Stadia launch and, hopefully, PC patching atm.

Assuming all those go well maybe MYM will happen and they’ll announce it with the usual 2 or 3 days notice.... if not they won’t say anything and it will just die quietly in a ditch with an arrow to its knee.

The Midyear Mayhem event is still planned for later this month. We will publish an announcement article with all the details at least a few days before the event starts.

In regards to no date for the Event Tickets in the Crown Store Showcase, that was intended. When we publish a Showcase article ahead of an event announcement and details article, we prefer that not be the first place where we share event dates (and without any details).

You could make the anouncment on the same day too you know. It's a good practice to give people heads up on events so they can plan they schedules in advance if they want to participate.

Because they have tunnel-vision. That includes putting value into PTS results….

    Thanks @ZOS_JessicaFolsom.

Will we see any more fixes for the skill delay and desyncs? Though their occurrences have reduced since Greymoor, during peak times it is as bad as it was during u25.

How can the event be planned with the unfixed delay on skills and lag in Cyrodiil ? This amazes me.

They've already said they think the servers are holding up just fine. It only follows that they don't think there's a problem, or don't feel it's that big a deal. As to how they could come to that conclusion, well, I have ideas but I'm pretty sure it'd get my post edited for bashing, so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Because they magically fix pvp for the duration if midyear mayhem every time. And as soon as the event ends, poof...
The performance will be terrible again and event only pvp players be like "why was the pvp community even complaining, everything was smooth"

Hi Jessica! Thank you for responding. Excited to hear MYM is still on!

I know it may not be feasible, but the more days before the even we have to prepare, the better. I have two friends that are going to pick ESO up for pvp but are dragging their feet. I think a date will push them to it. So if it is possible to get a bit more notice we would appreciate it. But I know that may not be possible.

Anyway thank you very much for taking the time to let us know MYM is still on. Hope to see you in the battlefield later this month!

The battleground/mmr system is so broken they had to remove groups from a group feature in an mmo, not ready for Midyear Mayhem. Cyrodiil is experiencing the worst performance ever...with the least amount of people and guilds 6 years post-launch, not ready for Midyear Mayhem. I think it's safe to say this is an event it would be wise to skip.

While I agree MMR was / is bad/broken, groups were removed from queue due to the number of games placing groups against 4 solo players, due to the paucity of groups queueing at certain times. I dislike the change and am happy to post in a new thread on why duos at a minimum should be let back in, but as far as the impact on MYM, I actually look forward to people asking for its return so they can play with a friend during MYM heh.

As to Cyrodill, its been rough out there the last few patches. Really disappointing performance. Hopefully they spin up more servers since MYM looks like it is going ahead.

Not true, that's a bonus to solo players who've gotten on their high horse after the change and expected it was done for them. It was explicitly stated on these forums by a dev in the pts section that this "test" was for performance reasons. Which can be further explained about how bad the mmr system is trying to calculate 12 individual mmr's as is, and when having to calculate group mmr's on top of that was simply not working.

Cyrodiil is a trainwreck. Having the event would be a complete disaster. But ZOS doesn't even think there is a problem with PvP lol... so I'm sure they'll still run it and say that everything is working as intended when we have constant desyncs and 5 second skill delays.

    Yup.

They've rarely put off any of the group-running dependent events (one I think?), even when the LFG is busted and other bugginess with dungeons. They aren't going to NOT have the event "just because Cyro" lags.

I know its more issues than that (With Cyro). But just agreeing that 'broken game mechanics' has rarely prevented events going live.

They've banked on having the XYZ number of tickets for people - the event will happen. And since I postd this before I read the CS post - clearly yes, the events happening LOL. (teach me to quote something before the end of the thread...)

MMR was mentioned as something they wanted to gather data on during the 'experiment', but it was not the only reason. They did note player feedback as a big reason for doing this. MMR did seem to struggle with how to handle groups vs soloers.
Sadly a lot of the players that were so excited for how solo queue would fix BGs have quit them. I've never been a fan of solo queue since I play ESO to pvp with friends. I just want a duo queue.

Anyway, this is getting off the topic of MYM but I am happy to contribute to another post on this subject.

Cyro typically performs better in MYM than any other time of year :( I think they spin up more servers or something. If that happens this time around - which I hope it does, since MYM is quite fun - it will really pinpoint the problems Cyro has on the server end.

I don’t see how they could go through with MYM. The game is absolutely garbage at peak hours. And even with 1 bar across all alliances you’ll still get FPS drops, desyncs, breakfree bug, can’t mount while in combat bug, stamina bug, bugs for days. Can’t believe it’s gotten this bad. And no it’s not my rig. Every game works fine but this one. ZoS fix PvP already!

Lol, no they most definitely do not. MMR doesn't work fine, it's why they had to remove group calculations because it barely works and has issues even without them. Meanwhile, performance issues have become noticeable in bg's such as delayed break frees this patch. Things are at an all time low.

Or Cyrodiil will become pve and abandon pvp

^ I have been saying this for awhile now.

Next year’s Chapter will be turning Cyrodiil into a PVE zone - blaming low player population (when we all know the real reason)... and then that will be the game’s last release.

I'm glad the event is on, but I'd like to know what you're doing with your servers and code to ensure the event goes off without a hitch.

I went into Cyrodiil last night (Friday) at around 10pm UK time, but just a little past prime time. It was genuinely unplayable for our entire group. Skills don't fire, bars don't swap, it take three attempts to mount your horse...... So many players are deserting Cyrodiil because of these issues - even Imperial City is busy on a Friday night, as it's become the only place you can have a scrap without total game meltdown.

PVPers have waited far too long for any kind of update about the absolutely horrible performance of the game in Cyrodiil.
