Midyear Mayhem - Cancelled, or Still On?

I've heard a few streamers the last couple of weeks comment that MYM may be cancelled/delayed due to performance issues, but I saw it was referenced in the Crown Store Showcase. I also believe it was tested on the PTS.

Is MYM still on? Have we heard a date?

It will probably be announced the Tuesday before it goes live on a Thursday. Probably around 6/23 after the Stadia launch.

I have not paid enough attention to notice past trends in announcement vs when MYM goes live. Is it usually that short of a turnaround time?

I was hoping to have more time to get some friends that are interested in PvP into the game, haha.

Based on the fact that there are no dates for tickets in this month's crown showcase, indicates not even ZOS is sure when or if MYM will happen. Usually we get a couple weeks heads up on event dates, especially when the showcase has dates for tickets in the crown store. However, a two day notice on the start of an event is not unheard of.

I hope we get more than 2 days but maybe they are waiting to see how launch on consoles goes too... I guess I forget sometimes, that consoles receive updates after PC.

Right, but the Crownstore Showcase for June mentions it, but there's some negativity in the community regarding if it will happen. Hence my confusion.

Actually for the last three events (started with Murkmire I believe) they've announced them Tuesday of the week before it starts. It caused a big amount of confusion with Anniversary and Jester's I recall.

As for whether it's cancelled or not, considering how atrocious performance is right now, especially in regards to pvp, I can't see how they can justify holding it.

I think they announced it on the premise that Greymoor had a supposed fix for skill delay. It is better, but still terrible when compared to pre u25.

We last had MYM in February I believe and it worked flawlessly. As much as I'd like to believe otherwise, I can't see it being anything short of a disaster with current performance.

I think its likely that Console release and Stadia come live first and maybe another incremental patch. My guess is end of the month earliest.

Right, this is a logical feeling and why I'm asking about it here. Curious if they plan to hold it.

Who would guess I'd say that I really miss ESO's performance from a year or so ago

If they are cancelling it they'd have to scramble to get another event for June. Unless they want to jam more events and tickets and berries in July.

It was on pts few weeks ago. If they planned to cancel it then why bother putting it there.

Cyrodiil is a trainwreck. Having the event would be a complete disaster. But ZOS doesn't even think there is a problem with PvP lol... so I'm sure they'll still run it and say that everything is working as intended when we have constant desyncs and 5 second skill delays.

Seriously, I don't know when it will happen, but I remain hopeful that it will happen, and that it will happen this month. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm not even a PvPer.

PTS was prior to the Chapter launch. While they have since fixed the issues they introduced, there is still extremely bad lag/input delay in Cyro.

I agree it will be a disaster as cyro is barely playable as it it without massive server load - can't even bar swap. Ive had to revert to my one bar vma pet build to play in cyro

I generally don't have a problem in no cp on weekdays, but wow, weekend nights get real bad.

most of my other problems with the patch have been resolved, but bar swapping is still slow and I still have cases where abilities aren't firing when I press them. I wonder if it is the "key release" vs "key press" difference? dunno.

Anyway I hope we hear about MYM soon.

The best time to have it is when combat is horrible. That way, people who enjoy PvP get frustrated and bail, opening slots for people chasing event stuff.

There's not that many people on even when camp is full. Maybe 100 per faction?

I'm hoping the event has trouble again, so zos is pressured to have to publicly announce the servers have problems. At a certain point the decision will be made that they need to focus solely on performance instead of more dlc. It is more likely that the decision will be made to just abandon the game and hop on the next Bethesda funded project.

I feel like almost half of the events haven't had dates in the Crown Store showcase, so it doesn't seem that odd to me. IIRC, the last MYM didn't give dates in that showcase until the event was announced. They usually announce the event a few days before, so I don't think this means it's cancelled.

Besides, this month's showcase is really empty, so cancelling the event would leave basically nothing else.

I expect MYM will probably be next week or so, and then the Summerset event will probably be next month. I also expect that next month we'll start to see the Icereach + Pyre Watch and/or Greymoor motifs dropping officially as well.

I'm hoping it stays on, I have 3 characters ready to use the event to unlock the Alliance War skills - even with lag.
