Just bought the game, wont let me make an account.

Hello,

I bought this game about a week ago, and I tried playing it for the first time last weekend. When I tried to create an account, it says that my email is already being used. I thought that was rather strange, but I went on with it and checked the website to find what username was linked to the email. But, after putting in my email to find what my username is, it told me that there were no accounts associated with that email. You can imagine the confusion and frustration that can give someone. If someone could help me understand what's going on, I'd really appreciate it.

    Which platform, and if on PC was it through Steam?

    I'm on PC, it went through steam, which category should I pick that would be closest to the "Don't have an ESO account but I sure would like too" issue? They either require you to put in account info or redirect to account recovery.

    Are you using the same email address for ESO that you use for Steam? If so, have you tried using a different one to open the ESO account with?

    Yes, the email I'm using is the same as my steam email. I did try making a new email to see if that would work, and I was able to make a test ESO account with it, but I still would like to know why my official email IS and at the same time ISN'T being used for an account. I'd rather not have information getting split up between two emails if I can't help it.
