Sometimes prices suck but it's easy to make money if you constantly sell stuff instead of vendor it. I don't farm anything I don't have to (bind on pickup) I just sell gear and gold mats and jewelry mats from daily writs from a few toons and 100k for a bis weapon I need is nothing. I'm not trying to brag just trying to get the point across that even someone who doesn't focus or go out of my way to make gold can easily afford it if you just semi smartly (:p) manage your items

There's a quest in deshaan that gives you a free MS lightning staff as quest reward. There's a quest in wrothgar that gives you a free briarheart dagger as a quest reward. They can be transmuted & upgraded however you like. They just have silly names.

Can't transmute lightning staff into inferno staff.

I didn't say it gives you an inferno staff. It's simply an option for those who want a lightning version and would otherwise be tricked into paying a ridiculous sum for one.

The MS lightning staff that's the quest reward is already Infused, so you don't even need to transmute it. That it's relatively easy to get (where as the only way to get an MS inferno staff - in any trait - without buying from a guild store is to farm it and that can end up taking a very long time. Also lightning staves are generally not quite as desirable as inferno staves, as meta seems to lean towards inferno.

The difference between the two probably isn't all that much, save for when you're running something that buffs or procs off of one or the other (why Burning Spellweave lightning staves are all but useless). What I like about lighning staves is the channeled heavy attack that's a lot less clunky than the inferno staff's heavy attack.
