Just enjoy Fishmas in the meantime.

It is a most merry time of year in Tamriel. Everyone dresses up in a seasonal way, sweetrolls and fishcakes abound, The Fishmas grotto gleams in the candlelight and everyone gathers by the Fishmas tree for a drink and a nap.

Oh and some people do that whole New Life Festival thing too.

I dread Xmas every year. I just want it to all be over

Unlike you.... I really love the holidays. Beginning mid-November, we hibernate. We have Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year by ourselves as we learned LONG ago that trying to do them with "melded" families that refused to be nice was just nothing but angst-making.

We've been married 43 years next month. 15 years ago, I put my foot down in a MAJOR way: no, we are not sharing the holidays with ANYONE but we two. Too much water under too many bridges, not to mention any number of - unlikable (in the extreme) family members (my brother.... husband's son....) So now, we enjoy the season, and each other, and have no appreciable stress at the end.

You know.... family crap is the PITS. I learned that so long ago now.... I refuse to deal with it any more. I should have done it back when I first realized.... when I was about 18.... Since I'll be 71 shortly, look at all those wasted years!

I used to get strep every year, or be stuck working so I miss the family time completely. Every year something happens. That's why I dread them.
