Little confused on Weapon procs now?

From the last patch before today...

Fixed an issue where both of your Dual Wield weapon enchantments were proccing from a single damage from Light Attack, Heavy Attack, or Weapon Ability.

Abilities that deal damage multiple times with a single cast, such as Flurry which has 5 hits or Twin Slashes which has 2 direct damage hits and several damage over time ticks, can proc both of your weapon enchantments over those hits. But each isolated instance of damage should only be able to proc one weapon enchantment at a time.

And now today's patch...

Weapon Enchantments and poisons will no longer proc from single-target Damage over Time effects of any weapon ability. The following effects can no longer proc Weapon Enchantments or poisons:
The Damage over Time from Cleave and its morphs
The Damage over Time from Twin Slashes and its morphs
All damage from Lacerate and its morphs
The residual Damage over Time from Toxic Barrage
The Damage over Time from Acid Spray
The Damage over Time from Poison Arrow and its morphs
The Damage over Time from Destructive Touch and its morphs

So, have we totally reversed whatever it was that we were told was broken forever and supposedly fixed with Murkmire? I'm a little confuzzled here...help me?

    What I don't understand is why did they decide that weapon enchants / poisons would proc from weapon abilities, and that for dual wield only? Why not for all weapons?

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
    • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
    • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only
    • Fix Balista Bolts not dealing damage on walls or doors if deployed at a certain place
    • Release bigger battlegrounds with 8 to 16 players per team and only two teams
    • Fix the permanent block animation - see examples : link1 link2 link3 link4 link5
    • Gives players 10 minutes to get back into Cyrodiil after relogging / crashing
    • Add a function to ignore the Claiming system of useless rewards

    I don't think they did, any DOT was doing it
    Now it sounds like no DOTs are doing it

    From a balance perspective its a very good change.

    The first patch you quote: enchants on BOTH weapons were going off when only ONE weapon hit. This was changed.

    Second quote: DOT TICKS will no longer proc weapon enchantments. before this, eg blood craze bleed would proc enchant on 3rd tic.

    Now, ONLY the first direct hit will proc an enchant and it will only do it on 1 weapon.

    What remains FIXED is that light/heavy attacks will ALWAYS proc the enchant and so will weapon abilities. Before all this, enchants simply weren't going off.

    So weapon enchants will still be much stronger than they used to be, but maybe not OP

    Enchantments should proc off:

    basic weapon attacks
    ground based DoTs off initial hit and any tick of the DoT.
    Initial hit of any single target DoT but none of the subsequent ticks of the DoT.

    So, in the end, Zos is making it so enchantments do not proc off single target DoTs since the damage is heavy and we cannot just move out of them.

    Of course we need to check on live to make sure Zos actually did it right.

    Considering the game is heavily into proc damage instead of player skill it does not surprise me Zos let this go live.

    it's time for glyphs to proc also from class and other abilities, not just weapon abilities.
    there's no reason caltrops and skills alike shouldn't proc it, stamina need this change to diversify builds
