Biting jabs and neutral npcs?

Doing the quest in Greenshade with the hollow man. Inside the ruins there are a few spots where a neutral woodelf is fighting with a hollow knight. When I attack the hollow knight with biting jabs it also hits the woodelf. Gives me a bounty and everything...

✭✭✭✭✭Biting Jabs is technically an AOE and not just a single target attack, right?
I don't know if turning on the "do not attack innocents" setting will help at all, but you might try swap to a true single target attack.0 -

✭✭It's not really an issue, I was just surprised. Others area effects I used (reflective light, brawler and grothdarr proc did not cause the bosmer to become red, only jabs.0
