What class should I play? I have all classes in Mag & Stam.

rob.sfoub17_ESO
What class should I play in the current & next patch? I've main'd a MagBlade for years, but over time I've leveled Mag & Stam versions of every class (yay double XP events!) and I'm looking to branch out in PvP

A few points of guidance...I almost exclusively PvP, and I'm typically running solo. I also tend to farm/hunt Imperial City a fair amount. I love mobility (and I've crutched on MagBlade mobility & cloak for a long time).

I don't tend to have the hard-to-get sets, so if you have builds in mind stick to crafted, overland, and other reasonable sets (dungeons/trials bore me so I don't do them).

I'm not necessarily looking for the most FOTM/Meta classes/builds, but I'm not against those either. :)

So what classes are strong for solo / 1vX PvP and fun to play?

What class should I play? I have all classes in Mag & Stam. 39 votes

Stam sorc sounds right up your alley. Good survivability and self heals like mag blade and great mobility.

I enjoy my Stam sorc the most.

I've enjoyed mag sorc, and warden

I dislike NBs because of their power. I never really get into Templars though I try and my DK kinda got put to the side

i would choose stam dk just because it's so much different than a magblade...

time to have some fun standing in place (relatively speaking) and swinging away and leaping on folks...

I've played my Stam Sorc more than any of the other options, but not a ton. I've done some Werewolf builds, as well as a Heavy 7th/Briarheart/TrollKing build that I enjoy.

I think you meant to say StamBlade instead of NB? Not many people call MagBlades overpowered. :(

Sounds like a good change of pace. :) Plus StamDks always wreck me on my MagBlade.

Play a stamDK in nerfmire, just for the sake of challange. The good thing about stamDK is that if you do well on this class, you can do well on all other stamina classes because sDk is as basic as it gets.

Thats basically how it goes in every ''somewhat competitive'' game. No matter how strong something is, it will only become meta if it gets recognized by the playerbase. This is especially the case for ESO because people never try to make builds themselves, they always want to be spoon fed by other players. Which is why build videos are so popular.

I threw together a Heavy Shackle, Werewolf Hide, Bloodspawn StamDK build last night...is that a decent setup? Any others you’d advise?

I need a few more skill points and skills leveled but so far the tankiness is nice and the Dawnbreakers come so quick. :)

I’m a little concerned about mobility, but if I can just facetank everything then burst, I guess mobility isn’t as necessary? I’m so used to Swift MagBlade speed so it just feels so slooooooow. :(

Yeah that’s what I been saying, no one acknowledges anything until it’s the general consensus or a popular player says it. I was saying stam sorc is really good in the right hands and even in average hands it’s decent. Nothing really changed either, if anything swift took away some of their identity.

I would advice building for weapon damage on stamDk. Its the best way to play the class. Use sets like seventh-fury etc.

So you can make a setup like blood spawn-shacklebreaker-seventh/fury.

As for mobility you can use speed potions for now, but next patch thats nerfed too so good luck lol.

Is it worth stacking those sets? I have Seventh/Briarheat ready to go. I haven’t gathered Fury.

Its the only way you can kill people in heavy armor.(again you can run medium armor aswell, entirely up to your preference) Seventh/fury both are good for 1vX because you will get constantly zerged down and these sets will proc non-stop.

what weapon setup are you using?

for some reason, a stam dk and 2 hander just seem to go together...

Werewolf hide on sDK provides a ton of sustain, so you can afford to run more weap dmg enchnats and/or warrior mundus. Also, the 2-4 pc bonuses on werewolf hide are better than 7th, and Fury requires a ton of incoming damage to keep up the full 5 pc so it's effectiveness is situational. Personally, I prefer Bloodspawn/shackle/werewolf in medium over heavy, but you're obviously a bit squishier.

Werewolf hide is mathematically inferior to bone pirate or another damage set.

More damage equals to more sustain because the higher your weapon damage is, the less often you need to hit, or heal.

Bs/shackle/werewolf build offers too little damage to kill competent foes in heavy armor. stamDk doesn't have a lot of damage passives , but it has minor brutality which offers extra weapon damage. So you need to build more weapon damage to take advantage of that.
