Jorunn raised a snotty, arrogant brat of a son and is oblivious to his treacherous brother until its too late.

Emeric fought a civil war to marry Maraya, then ignores her advice and nearly loses his Alik'r allies and tries to cheat on her with Septima Tharn.

Ayrenn seems to think she can show up out of the blue, crush her little brother's hopes and dreams with no consequences, and that everyone will instantly embrace her vision without needing to be convinced that she's actually right.

Voted Emeric/DC but it’s not my true vote. We need a 4th option: Abnur Tharn.

An argument could be made that he is the real authority at the top of the Imperial food chain during the Interregnum and even has motivation to unite the warring factions again. He gets my vote.

King Emeric by far. He is a genuine good natured King who leads from the front

The spirit of the Empire lives on as the Covenant, and as such all of Tamriel would benefit from it's rule.
Breton, Redguard and Orsimer have abandonned past injusticies and now live in peace. One could compliment the Pact on this as well, but EP just repeats its slavery habits on the Dominion khajiits.

Though in all honestly, I also love DC as its made up of my two favourite races, Bretons and Orsimer.

I dislike Queen Aryenn the most of the three monarchs. She feels like a Mary Sue. She's incompetent as well, never having any idea whats happening in her own Reich-style empire. Reading the book "Life in the eagle's shadow" also made me feel bad for the Altmer, as it tells a story of how a young humble altmer who supported the dominion and its other races has his life ruined by the dominion's racial quotas and conscription. All of this leads to this vulnerable young mer becoming hurt, bitter and joining the Veiled Heritance. Very well written lorebook ZOS

King Jorunn...its hard to like him because ZOS gave us so little time with him unlike the other leaders.

I don't relate to any of the choices. I think I prefer the Pact due to their "fight for freedom" approach to the war but Jorunn reminds me of a former president (think early 2000's).

Emeric is just a little on the "in it for the money" side.

Ayrenn seems OK but maybe a little naive.

The only solution is to put your faith in the divine. All my ladies worship Dibella.

He's not Ayrenn which is a huge plus. Emeric seems bland to me.

No, Aryenn sees other races as vastly inferior, especially man. In her faction proclomation, she says shed rather see a child mer sit on the throne than any man.

Shes racist and not much different from the Third Dominion we see in TESV

I actually loved the DC storyline because its...well, there's a lot of weird political stuff going on under the surface.

Like the fact that Emeric apparently doesn't want to be king.

Yeah, Emeric's got some issues. More lengthy discussion under the spoiler:

For one, remember Rivenspire? So, Rivenspire used to be King Ranser's territory. Ranser's daughter was supposed to marry Emeric, Emeric wanted to marry Maraya instead, and there was a nasty little civil war where Emeric nearly lost his kingdom but eventually triumphed.
Emeric then leaves Rivenspire without a king. This comes back to bite him majorly when Count Ravenwatch turns the Montclair family into vampires and a second civil war breaks out. And then Emeric shuffles off the decision of who gets to be king/queen to the Vestige!

Oh, and Maraya. This lady. Maraya is awesome and Emeric knows full well how lucky he is to have her at his side. He's miserable during his nightmares in Stormhaven when he thinks she's disappointed in him.
Except...
Maraya tries to warn him about necromancers in the Alki'r Desert. He ignores her.
Right - those Alik'r necromancers who almost overthrew his best ally, King Fahara'jad. They would have succeeded if not for Maraya grabbing the Vestige and saying "Look, please, go check it out."

Remember how Emeric fought a civil war to marry Maraya? And the fact that she's holding down one of his major alliances through her family in Hammerfell (who she just got the Vestige to save)?
Yeah, in Bangkorai, he takes one look at his old flame Septima Tharn and is desperate to impress her. She plays him like a fiddle and if it weren't for the Vestige, Septima Tharn would have succeeded in killing Emeric.

Emeric has some issues. The Vestige and Queen Maraya mostly clean up his messes, which is all that makes him look semi-competent.

I live and die for the Pact, its the best alliance by far, but to be honest, I dont like Jorunn. I like the other two even less, but I still wouldnt say his my favorit, beacuse that would mean I like him a little. Emeric is a crybaby, Ayrenn delusional and arrogant, Jorunn is an idiot.

Except Emeric wasn't trying to impress Septima or anything of the such. He makes a couple comments regarding her, included how the years have not been kind to her. Septima being his old love interest plays very little actual role.

And lets be honest, all 3 monarchs would be dead if not for the vestige going out of their way to save them. Aryenn for example had way to much trust in her subordinates.

If you're talking about Naemon, that's different. Jorunn was knocking on deaths door until we save him, and Emeric actually dies. Jorunn and Emeric are older and would of course stay behind to command the troops. Ayrenn is a warrior queen who isn't above getting down in the trenches with her troops. But she was in Reapers March at the end overseeing the defense of (forgot town name that was overrun with Daedra) and commanding her troops.

I should give Jorunn some credit for helping fight at the end of the Rift storyline.
